My favourite Japanese restaurant in Melbourne. Quality of the sushi & sashimi is consistently excellent and I have noticed a huge increase in the variety of sushi on the train. Kids love the ala carte menu too so its all win.
Approximate cost: $15
I went to Tomodachi for the $25 all-you-can-eat sushi train offer. The sushi was just alright. I would not pay full price for the sushi. The raw salmon in/on the sushi is warm, so it made me feel like it is not fresh. The seaweed is soggy too. The choices are plain. The expensive dishes on the train are not delicious sushi, they are just made from expensive ingredients.
Approximate cost: $25
Been here a few times. Have eaten off the sushi belt and also had the bento boxes and bbqs. In general, food here is good. It is more like Japanese fusion than pure Japanese cusine though.
