I've dined here three times now with slightly mixed thoughts. The first visit I felt the food was overpriced for what it was. On subsequent visits I absolutely enjoyed the food, but we are still paying premium prices.
It's great sharing food. Actually it works best if the food is shared amongst your group to try a few different things.
Good food, but the portions could be a tad bigger.
This is Asian fusion done well in the competitive Brunswick landscape. Today's Chiangmai curry noodles with soft shell crab and herb salad was scrumptious, flavoursome, wholesome and satisfying without overwhelming any of the senses.
They accommodated a big group on short notice and were so kind about it. All our food came out amazing except one and they were really good about changing that. Service was amazing as always. A regular favourite for Asian fusion.
Definitely worth a go, this place is really yummy. Great menu, laidback but still nice atmosphere, and good service. We go back regularly, usually for lunch. But we've also taken guests here for a nice dinner - tasty food at unpretentious prices. The roti is incredible as are any of the thai omelettes.
Nice wine selection too, and ok coffee
Approximate cost: $17
I've had the breakfast there, wouldn't go back in a hurry. It was marinated lamb chop, with a poached egg and other accompaniments. My partner had pad thai, which certainly wasn't done the traditional way. It lacked flavour and was quite pricey for Thai.
Approximate cost: $15.00
I love the food here. I feel the staff can be a bit "too cool for school" and it can sometimes feel like they are doing you a favour by serving you and it can be slow. The food is worth the wait though. I wish they were open on Monday and Tuesdays.
I was looking for somewhere to eat that could cater to my food intolerances. I came across Tom Phat as I walked down Sydney Road and was immediately taken by the decor and then the friendly staff. My meal was big, yummy and quick. They food quality was excellent. Their prices are very reasonable too. Its a very fancy looking cafe/restaurant but anyone is welcome. Even me with my huge pram and crying baby.
Approximate cost: $15
The service really is the most outstanding thing at this restaurant. The food is quite good value, quite a good asian dining experience.
Cool decor, good menu and lots on the specials board. Prices are reasonable, comparative to getting a fancy sandwich or bakery food elsewhere - $10-$14 for a proper meal (served beautifully) is pretty good in my book. Went for lunch with friends, the tofu pad thai was nice and a very large serving. Look forward to returning to try more. They also do cake and coffee.
Approximate cost: $Lunch $10-$14
The selection of food here is brilliant! A new twist on the thai recipes we are use to, fantastic breakfast menu and the juice menu is incredible (especially after a big night). The whole place makes you feel really warm and wanted. Def one of my favourite places to go.
Approximate cost: $20.00
I went there once and found the place warm. The service was very good and they made you feel welcome. Coffee is very good, not pricey. I would be going back.
Approximate cost: $10
This is not like the usual traditional Thai restaurant u go to. The food seems to be a combination of Thai and European style. Taste great! Nice quiet ambience for fine dining. Price is a bit steep but value for money.
Approximate cost: $20
This is a great place for a lazy Sunday breakfast... they do something a bit different from the usual breakfast fare & the Asian influence really shows through. The atmosphere is really nice & laid back & we have taken many interstate visitors there for brunch. Staff are quite friendly & helpful too!
Approximate cost: $12-15
Tom Phat is a trendy Thai restaurant on Sydney road. I have eaten there a few times now, and most recently I had their Phad Thai. It came with big prawns, fried chillies and fresh lime. It was on the sweeter side, but delicious, and very reminiscent of the flavours in Thailand. The service was super fast.
Approximate cost: $16
