On a recent shopping expedition I was pleasantly surprised with an encounter with an employee
Her product knowledge was good but her customer service was next level and I left the store with exactly why I needed but also feeling listened After feeling a little weary of dealing with shop assistants during the day she was like a breath of fresh air with her calm and friendly manner
Not normally one to do reviews I feel compelled to say it

This is an amazing shop. I go there sometimes just to browse they have so many different items. The range of scarves is great, from something quite reasonably priced to more expensive silk and angoras. I have bought Christmas presents for some of my family. The service and knowledgeable advice is great. You cannot get as good advice on hosiery from any other stores in Hobart. I found the ladies there very friendly and helpful. They know there product. Love this shop.

wow so much variety so much choice..colours style design patterns length..I love the long stocking thick for winter..they've got great range of socks too..even for the elderly to the young a must to visit

My last four visits to this shop have been extremely disappointing. The service is non-existent. I feel as though the salesladies look you over as you walk in and decide if they think you're worth serving. Each time I've gone there - I wanted to buy something specific and was prepared to spend - I've browsed, tried to make eye contact, then left with my money still in my purse because I was so annoyed. The one time I was approached by a saleslady she was indifferent and, after I asked a couple of questions, she wandered off. Before this shop changed locations the service was far better, I'm not sure if that's because the owner or staff changed. Their stock is interesting and well presented, however I'm not willing to go there again.

The name belies the facts - The Stocking Shop sells so much more than stockings! They have a wide range of leg wear, foot ware, clothing, fascinators and some beautiful scarves.
They are, however, quite highly priced. I generally can't afford to shop here, although when I've had gift cards to spend, the quality is great, and I've always found the service to be friendly.
I notice that while they have a really good range of Metalicus clothing, other retailers around the city have their older season Metalicus on sale at present - The Stocking Shop is still selling theirs at full price. Not the crime of the century, but it makes me slightly less likely to give them my business.
