Wife & I are in Canberra for a couple of year for work. Canberra residents say they are 'spoilt for choices' when it comes to restaurants. My wife and I may be fussy, but we think they are full of $h.t.
We went to Tasting China for lunch on a Saturday. Very clean & very friendly staff. No reservation required.
Just ordered Chinese tea for two - nice fresh jasmine tea (not the recycled tea).
We just had some dumplings for entree, nice and juicy. Wife ordered some chilli chicken and I got the broad beans with celery and tofu, plus we had some rice.
Delicious - if we can, I'd like to go back here for lunch before we go back to Sydney.
Staff very attentive and friendly - would have liked to settle back with a bottle of vino (alas, I had to mow the lawn that afternoon).
There are not many Chinese restaurants in Canberra that my wife (who is Chinese) and I like and would recommend. Tasting China is one of them.
Approximate cost: $70
