Great food that doesn't cost a great deal. The food is normally ready fairly quickly and the large options are quite filling . Nice place to get some food in city.

We have been dining at this place at least once every week/fortnight. Needless to say, this place is always jam packed around weekend lunch and dinner! We always order the large portion, i.e. katsu chicken, karaage or even the salmon set! At $6-$8 per meal price, it can't go wrong! They also provide free tea for those that prefer to spend on food!

Good cheap place to stop for a quick meal in the city. Friendly staff, easy to view and choose from their menu. Minimal decorations but clean restaurant. Not authentic Japanese food but nothing really bad about the cooking. Free green tea to wash down an average meal. You definitely get what you pay for here.

I got a small take away Udon Noodle Soup ($3.80) from Taka's Kitchen. It was a Wednesday evening and they weren't very busy. My soup was ready in just a couple of minutes, and tasted okay. The noodles were a bit overcooked and the soup itself could have done with more flavour. In their favour, it was a super-cheap dinner.
Service wasn't great, it took several attempts for the cashier to understand my question - I was asking whether they had gyoza. She was friendly though, so maybe it was just a language barrier/my pronunciation.
You get what you pay for at Taka's Kitchen, it's probably worth the extra cost of going elsewhere.

I used to eat at Taka's every day when I was working in the city. Best sushi i have *ever* had. Admittedly not really authentic sushi, but that's how I like it. Really cheap but not a nice place inside. No problem if you take it away and go sit somewhere nice and eat :D

Amazing and very inexpensive Japanese food. The diner is a neat no frill setup. Chicken Katsu is the best here in my opinion. It's always full which means it's a little loud but never feels overcrowded like many other Asian restaurants

Fantastic Japanese food and it is sooo cheap. Has a wide variety to chose from, is fast and convenient if you work in the city and want a quick meal. Great place to also catch up with work colleague and friends. Can get very busy during lunch hour though.

Cheap and fast. You get what you pay and expect. Katsu curry chicken and teriyaki fish are the only 2 dishes we always ordered. It is the best when it comes to value for money

takas provides tasty Japanese cuisine with most dishes served with rice. This place gets very busy around lunchtime which is testament to how good a place it is to eat.

This place is always packed out during lunch time. It is always hard to find a seat but you can get takeaway. The meals are cheap and the service is fast. Overall this place is worth a visit.

this place is packed full during lunch times because its pretty much the cheapest place for anyone to grab a lunch in the city...they should probably find a bigger place cause it a pain trying to find seats when ur with a group of friends. but they really need to changed their frying oil cause its so filthy...the food comes out dark brown==sign of over used oil!...i also noticed a sign of putting on some weight when i went their nearly 4-5 times a week....pain to lose it all again lol

Very cheap and relatively good Japanese food with very quick service. There are two serving sizes to choose from. Tea and sauces are free but self service. However, it is not easy to find a seat.
