Teachers are so bad. They don't care a single bit about the students, and they don't know what support means I bet. Us students are expected to get 100% in EVERY assessment, otherwise we fail! YET IN EVERY ACTIVITY BOOK provided by TAFE, I have found SO MANY WRONG ANSWERS!!! Why do we have to suffer and get 100% otherwise failed, but u idiots who don't care about our health and supporting us, are allowed to make a million mistakes??? We are STUDENTS!!!! WE SHOULD BE THE ONES MAKING MISTAKES AND STILL PASSING WITH 90%. but nope, according to them, they are the ones allowed to be wrong and us students are not! Very disappointed and angry about this. Never study at this place in your life! Everyone I know has even said they make way too may mistakes.

I did my open learning course through OTEN.
This was one of the worst mistake I ever made.
Discrimination is a major problem here, everytime I spoke to their staff for help on the course I was belittled and patronised. The final 'nail in the coffin' was the derogatory slurs about my age. This is when I would eventually get through, their phone service is appalling.
***OTEN has a decent range of courses and payment/delivery options BUT it's operated by blue collar slobs on a power trip which lack professionalism or pride in the service they provide***
Find another training provider, IMO.

I did a course through these guys 2 years ago. Wonderful teachers that really care and take the time to help you. The course outlays are explained well and the paper work mail out system is good.
Really good to have OTEN if you are a school leaver, disabled, stay at home mum..could really help you out when you go to get a job later.

I used oten to do an accounting course. They kept trying to get into contact with me and were very helpful.
Contacted OTEN to try and find out about disability support for the course & had a very poor response. I had to keep calling them, no one would get back to me to arrange anything, felt like they really weren't interested at all. They took too long & mucked me around so I went with another provider.

Overall, I have enjoyed my education through OTEN. It was a fantastic course and great value. Teachers were helpful and were knowledgable about the course. A fantastic distance education institute.

great way to learn new skills, study at home at your pace, great teachers and help desk lot of difference courses to pick from. you can work. look after your family and still learn more
I have done a number of courses by correspondance through Oten which is an extension of Tafe but you can do it in your own time at your own pace. Teacher support is great
