They will try to scam you for more $$This company sent through a fixed quote. I booked and paid in full for a locked in date. They then changed to the date putting my schedule and plan out. I was told 1-2 days after pick up for delivery that was changed to 5 days after pick up. They changed to time as well. Their driver told lies and tried to get a cash payment from me saying I had gone over my quoted price and if I didn’t pay they would not be taking all my belongings. I had no choice as I was moving interstate. I received an invoice for an extra $1300 when pushed they did drop it to $933. I said I would pay cash on delivery as I didn’t want my belongings being held hostage for more money.
This company will scam you. I am now referring this to Fair Trade NSW.
Do your homework but I don’t believe any of their positive reviews, my guess would be family/friends or paid positive reviews.

10/10 service from Rob, Josh, Korrie and Brian. Korrie and Brian moved me this time and they were fantastic. They took SUCH good care of my items and talked me through the process. They were careful but so efficient and I can’t tell you how much stress that alleviates when moving house… Rob and Josh moved my house TWICE previously and did an absolutely stellar job. It’s employees like these that have me recommending Star City Removals to literally everyone I know. Quick, experienced and communicative removalists.

A TOTAL NIGHTMARE WHICH WE ARE STILL LIVING!!!!!!!!
We have recently engaged StarCity Removals, who viewed our belongings in person to move our belongings from St Leonards NSW to Southbank Victoria. Since paying for the agreed fixed price amount we have had a number of issues with the removals company which includes 1) StarCity demanded an extra $3000 on top of the agreed $3790 for so called additional volume on top of initial estimate of $3500. StarCity refused to deliver our goods until the extra money was paid. On delivery, we inspected and took a photo of the trucks contents and this did not reflect the volume which the company had alleged we had moved. 2) Delivery was delayed by 1 day ( agreed pickup 11/03/24 and agreed drop off 12/03/2024) StarCity told us that the truck had broken down in Canberra but when we greeted the delivery team in Southbank they informed us that they had driven straight down from Sydney 3) Our goods sustained a number of aspects of damage plus some loose items have simply gone missing. The damage was to an electric armchair valued at $1900 plus 2x concrete coffee tables one valued at $500 and the other $800. The damage sustained to the tables is not cosmetic and an indication that the items had simply been mishandled with complete lack of care. We have submitted an insurance claim to StarCity ([email protected]) and informed we will have to wait 14-30 days for a result of our claim) 4) When the delivery was delayed, as per their website, I requested a location of their truck, as they state they have 24 hour tracking on their vehicles. The sales account manager simply refused to tell me where the truck was. 5) The pickup from our address in NSW was done with a truck which was too small, StarCity stating that they couldn't get their larger truck in the narrow laneway behind the building. There could be some truth in this but then StarCity charged us another substantial amount for the time of moving items from the small truck to a remote larger truck.

Booking people great to deal with but removalists damaged and broke items and arrived a day late with the second load. They couldn't fit everything in with one load so I had to wait for them to bring the rest and then payment was taken from my account without my authority. My things were not well protected and so much arrived broken.
A stressful interstate move in April 2023 with very bad memories.

Moved from Sydney to Melbourne. I dealt with Grant for booking and any questions I had. Ben and Joe were my removal guys for a one bed apartment . Absolutely seamless with the whole experience. Pick up was 9.40am Thursday and finished in Melbourne before 12pm the next day.
The best experience and a big thank you to Ben and Joe for communicating with me to enable my daughter to be at the new property in good time to meet them.. Professional and friendly to both myself and my daughter and would highly recommend this company.

I would not recommend using this service. As I underestimated the amount of cubic metres to be moved, (for a 2 br unit) they added an extra $1000+ which was taken from my c/c without consultation, in addition to the deposit of $800. I only had the movers say so that there was so much extra involved. The movers were very uncaring of my belongings and when they arrived at my new home, they had been drinking.

Had to move recently and the team from starcity removals save the day troy,alex and the team were fantastic thanks again.

We have had the most amazing experience with the drivers and removalist from Starcity - Kylie and Brendan. We’ve moved interstate and can honestly say without the ease of these two wonderful people it would have been extremely stressful. They packed our whole house amazingly and efficiently. If you’re able to ask for your removalist I would be requesting these two! A++

Are you agreed with StarCity Removals on a date and price? Be prepared they call you a few days before your moving date stating they cannot make it - your deposit is refunded, bye-bye.
It just happened to me.
I am shocked.
Moving is a great deal for any household and canceling an agreed date few days before the agreed date is horrific. All other removals may be booked yet. Their terms and conditions state they cannot guarantee a moving date - so what? A moving need many planning and preparation. How you can count on a delivery company which leaves you alone just before the delivery date???
I will definitely avoid these guys and highly recommend to do the same to everyone else...

I employed Star city for an interstate move as they were good value and had good reviews. It was one of the worst choices I have ever made.

While loading the truck and about half way through my items the guys told me that I was almost at my allowed m3 limit which was 55m3. I measured the truck and found that I was no where near my limit and told them to keep packing. They did, but their boss who they were calling told them to stop as they had another load to pickup. They eventually stopped at 47m3, leaving 8m3 that I paid for but could not use. They simply shut the doors and left, leaving me with heaps of items that would have easily fit if I had been able to use all the space I paid for.

I crammed as much as I could into my vehicle and small trailer, but was left with many items I was forced to throw out as I had to leave the next day.

The total loss to me was around $2500. I have contacted Star city several times in an attempt to rectify the situation but they ignore emails, or put you on hold until you hang up (10 min plus)

It baffles me how cowboy operators like Star city are still allowed to operate. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST

Four weeks later they are not returning emails.
We’ve reported the stolen items to the police & lodged claims with our own insurance company.
We’ve also advised our credit card company of Star City and their set up and they have flagged Star City as a potential risk.
Our experience with them tainted our move abs has been incredibly stressful.
Star City have shown no care or responsibility for anything (theft and or damages).
If you use them you’ll regret it.

Furniture has been missing for five days - found it in a towing yard in the rain after it crashed and damaged everything on it. No one from the company has called us!!! The truck looks nothing like the pictures.. they’ll take your money but forget about calling you . Appalling service - moving is stressful enough. You don’t need your belongings destroyed and missing and left out in the rain and not one phone call to let you know. They use a messaging service so you can’t even call them and they don’t call you back! Paid upfront - twice the amount quoted .. absolutely disgusting practice - be warned.

Moving family interstate, our large furniture has been ruined and the service provided was awful (couldnt attach photos, but one would show a foot print, where their “protective” slip ons had fallen off and they used our furniture as stepping stones). They rocked up over 36 hours (day and a half!) late at 8pm at night. Loaders were in a rush and didn’t shrink wrap or use any blankets (even though this was specified on the quote!), leading to the damage shown, and more.

Even though they were 36 hours, late causing us a lot of issues with a 5 month old (which we did not kick up a fuss for) they still tried charging an extra $800 for the move as they said we had more than quoted (which we definitely didn’t as we specifically booked more than required as we were aware they’d receive and sting us) and that it took over two hours to load when it took less than an hour (as we were keeping phone records), we think loaders possibly trying to get extra commission from the move? Luckily I had read previous reviews on here to lock my account. This caused a declined transaction at 8:30am for the full amount plus $800, before they sent a revised quote telling me they were going to charge extra at 8:35am, 5minutes later, as they couldn’t access the money!

They are only providing $200 refund for the damage and awful service. I know for a fact I wouldn’t have seen the $800 again if it wasn’t for the helpful reviews online

Arrived an hour early then decided they didn’t want to wait even though they literally were early. Drove off and still charged us the full amount PLUS $100. No one answers the phone on weekends. They use an external “messaging” company so no contact gets delivered to the company whatsoever. I have just filed with small claims court. DO NOT BOOK.

These guys damaged $15000 worth of my property and won’t even pay the $1000 their liable for, according to their own contract.

By far the worst, most unprofessional and deceptive Removalist company put there. Am also in the process of filing a complaint with fair trading

Where do we start with Star City Removals.... this was a BAD BAD choice and you should be careful before making yours. Don't make the same mistake as we did.

We booked a move with Star City and received a quote for $650 including piano, furniture and numerous boxes. Whilst we thought this was low, we pressed ahead and booked them over 2 Men and a Truck. Unfortunately, it all went downhill from there.

We were underquoted quoted for the move to entice us to book and were eventually charged 4x the original quote.

We booked the move for an early start and they arrived late at 9 am. After repeated calls, the logistics representative could not confirm when the drivers would arrive, "sorry about that, they are on their way"

To save time and money, we packed all the boxes and covered fragile items with rugs and mats, to make it easier and quicker for the movers to load the truck.

On the companies recommendation, we added an extra mover to help get the job done quicker. Despite paying for 3 guys to make the move faster and more efficient it took 6 ½ hours to load the truck.

One of the guys told me, "this is my first day back, I have been away for 3 weeks with a back injury and usually do the interstate drives and don't do the heavy lifting, sorry". So to save his back, he carries single items, that my 12 old son could have done. Very quickly I realised we had a problem, so I pitched in to save time and get the job done.

I should have called the company to advise them of the problem and dealt with it earlier. Who would have thought it would all down hill and wrong from there.

After the movers had lunch, cigarette breaks, cokes and usual chit chat to pass the time, the truck was packed at 3.30pm. 6 ½ hours to load the truck - we have a problem.

We arrived at our new home at 4.15 pm and as it was getting dark, I knew it was going to be a long night.

At 7.30 pm in the middle of carrying furniture, I receive a call from a representative who was unnecessarily forceful and not interested in understanding our predicament saying, "you need to pay now or the boys walk!” My immediate response was, "you have got to be kidding me.... we are not even half way through unpacking" - "Sorry they say, that's the deal it's not our problem".

After pleading with the movers to finish the job, buying them dinner and giving them a cash tip, they stay for another hour to move the heavier items. At 8.30pm they picked up and left, leaving me with half our house on the side of the road for me to finish the move. At 1 am in the morning, I had to call it a day. Having been up since 5am and too old to be doing this. It took me most of the next day to finish the move.

Are you getting the picture. DO NOT USE STAR CITY REMOVALS.

Our experience with Star City removalists has been absolutely terrible. We booked interstate move from northern NSW to Victoria. The issues we faced included:

1) Poor communication and conflicting information pre-move

2) Did not turn up on time, took excessive time to pack up and charged us extra

On the pick up end, they arrived on the day of move very late in the day (after 7pm) and after looking around, advised it was about a 5 hour job to pack/load. However, they did not leave until the next day at around 4pm, and we were charged an additional 13 hours on what we were quoted, automatically deducting this from our credit card without
discussion.

At the delivery end, on enquiry, we were definitively advised that the movers would arrive on Sunday (21st) and that we needed to be on standby all afternoon. We were not yet living on site and waited in the empty house for their arrival. In the late afternoon we were informed by text that they would instead be coming the following day. This meant we
needed to take time off work at very short notice.

3) Significant damage to several items and to walls of house - water damage, structural damage and scratches.

4) Unprofessional behaviour. eg leaving drink cans and rubbish from food they consumed lying around in the house on pick up, swearing and the occasional rude comment on delivery.

5) Poor complaint handling. Despite 2 formal complaints being lodged, no action was taken, just a "your claim has rejected, and the matter is closed." email.

We highly recommend avoiding this company

They simply cannot be trusted and as far as my experience goes. There is a reason they are cheap - they provide a shocking, incompetent and amateurish service, charge a number of hidden costs that can’t be disputed and have the rudest customer service I have ever come across.

In amongst the number of issues I faced, they didn’t provide a time for the pick-up so we had to wait for them all day; the removalist turned up on his own and had to wait an hour for a friend (which we were charged an over-hours late fee for); they arrived without the necessary tools for the job; they were incredibly slow (and we were charged extra for this); we were told at 3pm on the day of delivery to the end address that they wouldn’t be coming that day as one person had called in sick (no apologies); they took unauthorised payments from my bank account without providing an invoice or letting us know (I have had to cancel this credit card now); the customer service representative was unbelievable offensive and rude and told us that we “it was our fault and we shouldn’t have booked a cheap service”; the customer service rep also refused to let us escalate our complaint further. We have reported them to NSW Fair Trading and urge you not to use their services. In this day and age, companies like this shouldn’t be able to continue to defraud customers.

DECEPTIVE conduct used to charge you more. Provided "final quote" months in advance, then ON THE DAY OF PICK UP, sent me a new quote with an estimation of load time that added $240 to the quote - something they should have been transparent about from the beginning. After that, you can't get through to anyone besides the reception - don't return calls or emails once they have your money. Because the delivery of our goods was interstate, we couldn't even claim on the multiple damages of our belongings (e.g. no promised shrink wrap on our couch that ended up with massive black stains everywhere) because we weren't there to receive the items (they were put in storage). We paid a premium because we thought we would receive a quality service but that's clearly something they don't care about.

Had Chris and Chris move my family and I from a 4 bedroom house into an off-street ground floor apartment. The move went so smoothly, everything was taken care of quickly and carefully and nothing was too much for these guys! They were super friendly and helpful, even taking my brother's pet snake in the truck and not spilling even a single drop of water from his water bowl on the way. Very very happy with StarCity Removals for making our move so stress-free, thanks heaps!

Jai and Brendan were the two removalists I got, and I don't think I could have gotten a greater pair of fellas. Kind and friendly, they got stuck in and finished the job well before my predictions. Can't recommend them enough. Pricing was fair and competitive as well, and the StarCity office was just as kind and friendly as their workers, offering great solutions and strong communication all round.

Great communication and no question was any trouble. Happily updated quote several times. Wayne was great.
The removalists guys worked tirelessly all day. Nothing was too much trouble and their humour remained intact all day. They wete AWESOME highly recommend.
