Smoque is a great restaurant in the area, they sell many varieties of meats such as chicken, pulled pork, ribs and burgers. The food is so good and very filling. Their cheesecake,is pretty good too.
Really good place for burgers they also have specials on lunch. The burgers are so delicious. Service is also quick.
After hearing so much about Smoque, and having fond memories of ribs and wings from my time in America, I was excited to head down with a group to Smoque. I ordered the ribs and a few sides, and although I felt a bit underwhelmed it wasn't too bad. I did order the wings though, and they were excellent, so I'm going to have to return to give it another try.
I will not be going back here again.
I phoned and made a booking 24 hours prior to when we were after a table. After speaking with a staff member she advised that even though they only take bookings for certain sitting times that they would be able to accommodate my request of a slightly later booking time. I provided my name and number, confirmed the number of guests and she advised me that she had made a note next to our booking stating that we would be slightly later than the sitting time.
We arrived the next night 10 minutes prior to our booking to be told that as we had not arrived at the start of the seating time our table was given away. I explained to the staff member who had been quite rude to us that the lady I had spoken to had noted that we were going to be slightly late and that it would not be a problem. I was then informed that there was never any booking under our name and that there would be a 45 minute wait for a table.
I explained that we were not able to wait as we had a commitment later in the evening and asked if there was anything else that could be done seeing as we had made the booking and discussed the situation with the waitress. The young waitress was again very rude and said that we would have to wait. We then explained that we were unable to do that and our party of 6 then left.
I was very unhappy with the way that we were treated and spoken to. To be told two different stories when asked about our booking when we arrived shows the incompetence of the staff that work there.
I am unable to comment on the food or the prices as we never made it that far.
Very disappointed Smoque. I won't be going back to your business again.
