Exceptionally poor service

My car was declared a total loss from a Roo encounter in January, we are in mid-May and the claim is still not settled. Pathetic service from claims department and no one calls back, I am disgruntled and still struggling to get a call back, up to 2 hours wait time if you don’t get cut off and to get told 5 days for a priority call back and no response se is pretty poor service. I will be not8fying all 103 club members in the car club of my experience and no longer promote the Shannon’s brand which I used to hold in high regard.

Shannons claims team are pathetic. They claimed that I started a claim for my HSV. I DID NOT MAKE ANY CLAIM. 2 weeks of messages, still no answers or apology.

I have had a water pipe burst in the roof, wetting a book shelf containing photo albums, books and computers.
I have baby photos completely ruined. After 1 month i have still not spoken to my case manager. Shannons have organized to fix and replace everything that can be done easily.
They have totally ignored every request i have made in writing and over the phone to put me in touch with my case manager so i can get my photos looked at and restored.
I have spoken with no less than 6 different claims managers and all have told me that they will contact my claims manager via email and phone.
WORST COMPANY EVER.

I would warn everyone off. 7 months they have held my car and whilst no dispute they try and get out of it the cheapest way and don’t care about the customer. Trying to settle everything under fine wording which allows them to pay cash and not repair. Then they don’t pay enough to repair.

Stay away from them!!

I am not insured with Shannons but I was looking after a friend's car that is insured with Shannons which was unfortunately damaged while parked.
Shannon's were nothing short of amazing. In less than 3 hours after the owner contacted them I picked up a replacement hire car - upgraded so that extras that were in his car would fit - and we comfortably drove the 1500 km home.
They also trucked his car to near his home town for repairs.
I will definitely be getting a quote from Shannons when I next insure my own (older, special) car.

Good customer service , they understand vintage car enthusiasts needs. Throughout the almost 2 decades of our custom , this company has been easy to deal. We felt cared about & supported when our family was in financial distress. Keep up the great work!

Had extreme restricted use policy and then went into Victorians 260+ day lockdown and when asking Shannons to refund me for the time I spent not driving the car they try to rely on some policy stipulating this and that like it was my fault for not reading the fine print and ultimately relying on this not to refund the 260+ days of non use when they know very well Victorians are in a lockdown and have done nothing but pass the buck onto me .

All is good until you need them to cough up. 27 years with Shannons no claims 9 policies including historics and muscle cars and i put a claim in for under 10 g. then the real shannons rears its head[suncorp] 4 months later no joy still fighting over a few thousand dollars to fix the car back to condition before mishap. They would like me to accept a sub-par repair job, cut some corners or accept a heavily depleted payout. So you people with good things to say have probably not tried to call on them to fix your pride and joy. GOODLUCK

Was recommended by GIO (sister company). I should have been told by GIO that I would needed to be a motor enthusiast to get insurance with them.
Jason was an 'upstart' & very much to the point. Being a woman, I felt intimidated by his attitude. I recommended he read reviews for his company. None the less I don't have insurance with them. He told me he had a 'fleet of some motor product -bikes' He definitely needs some PR training!!

I rang Shannons Sales with a question about CTP and I also wanted to purchase comprehensive insurance. Throughout the entire call their representative was unhelpful, dismissive of me, aggressive towards me and unwilling to stop talking over the top of me, despite me asking him not to, and to allow me to finish my question. He was unwilling to answer the questions I had asked him and instead gave a completely different answer to a question I had never asked. Ultimately deciding that he could not help me and would not answer my question. He was so caught up in his own belligerent behaviour he didn't even make a sale for the comprehensive insurance I rang to purchase. I then rang GIO who were super helpful who made that sale Shannons didn't.
