While they receive great reviews for yum cha, our experience for dinner was really disappointing. Very ordinary food served on unmatched plates which had several chips and cracks by uninterested staff. I would not go back again.

The food at scholars is not bad. I've been there for Yum Cha and dinner several times. I prefer going on weekdays though cause on weekends, they have so many people and service is really slow. I particularly like the cod fish from the dinner menu ($25++) and the baby abalone from the yum cha menu. The prices at scholars are abit on the high side when compared to other dickson restaurants. The service on most days is okay.

I took a group of 25 people here for a banquet dinner. The service was excellent, and they made sure to assist the two vegans in our group with a separate meal. The food was just perfect - plenty of it, not greasy, lovely flavours, juicy prawns, and a couple of type of rice. For $28 a head I will definitely be going back.

Authentic and mouth-watering yum cha! A most delightful find in Dickson!! This is one of the very few restaurants which I'm happy to stand in queue for :)

Arrived past noon on a Sunday for yumcha, and there was an eager queue waiting. Despite the crowd, people were moving in and out at a rather fast rate, and we were seated in less than 20 minutes. The dimsum (yum cha) offerings came in a combination of pushcarts and hand-carried dishes, which worked effectively, as the items were fresh and piping hot. All in all my wife and I ordered 9 items ranging from steamed combination dumplings to braised veal ribs to salt & pepper calamari and egg tarts. All were excellent, and made for an unforgettable afternoon. We will definitely be back, with more diners in tow.
