In savers over the years i have taken a lot of good thing down there and also brought a lot of things there but wont be happening no more cause last week brought ceiling vents and when got home they were to small so today took back for a refund only $12 3 items $4 each spoke to the lady behind the counter wanted give credit but hang on i payed in cash you should return in cash they still would not budge so if you are going to shop here make sure you dont bring back for refund which is very wrong cause i can go to other woolworths coles bunnings any shop they will refund you as far as i know same does thrifty shops so from now on its 100% land fill so do not shop here every other company has to refund why cant they get 100% free.
The problem with buying anything second hand is that you must check it carefully.
But when an item has been incorrectly labelled (by the manufacturer) it is against the consumer protection act (section 56). And consumer law still applies to secondhand goods.
While Savers say you can exchange an item they are in fact required by law to give you your money back if you think it has a major fault and has been misrepresented. The staff are ignorant of this and so you can expect no help in resolving any problem. So be very careful with what you buy. It is not all all that cheap anyway. At real op shops people are much nicer.
I've shopped here a couple of times for school dress ups and costume parties and each time have been able to find something at great cost. The quality can sometimes be suspect though (watch for stains!) so buyer beware. The nicest thing I can say about the staff is that they are disinterested generally. All up though it's a pretty good store as long as your expectations aren't high.
Before you go spending tons on fancy costumes or if you just want some more clothes, go here first. They have a HUGE range of men's, women's' and children's clothing. I recently put together a fantastic Robin Hood outfit from a green T shirt, tights, and a cut down dressing gown - total cost $12. That's a fraction of the cost of a costume at around $60 to hire.
But they have a great range of clothes you'd wear anytime too - skirts, pants, evening wear, suits,children's play clothes or uniforms etc. They also have sheets/towels etc and shoes, books, bags, china and crockery, ornaments and glassware.
The toy section used to be good but now it's usually rubbish. Don't bother. The furniture up the back is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes there's a useful piece, but a lot of it's junk. Keep popping in to see what comes in all the time.
Parking is across the road in the high rise car park or in one of the small side streets but watch out for the meters - you need a ticket or you will get booked for sure.
It's become very popular and I think the prices are higher than they used to be, but still good value and things you won't find anywhere else.

This store has a massive range of second hand goods, clothes, shoes and household goods. But alot is brand new too! The prices are really cheap but everything is good quality.
