Despite the amazing culinary wonders in Footscray, breakfast remains elusive. Rudimentary is one of the few places serving truly great and interesting breakfast and brunch in the area.
This delightful cafe is right in the heart of Footscray , walking distance from home. Good value for money. And staff are friendly. Every Saturday morning, my hubby and I walk down with the kids for coffee and breakfast. The kids love it, the atmosphere is wonderful as well. Highly recommend

THere is plenty of seating and the atmosphere and service was quite relaxed. The menu was simple and reflective of the name of the place. Really great set up, coffees were perfectly made. There breakfast menu is one of the best around, something for everyone.

The waitstaff are really nice and helpful. As the menu, the kitchen team have done a great job. From the House Cured Ocean Trout with Pickled Cucumber, Nashi And Creme Fraiche plus a poached egg - House Cured Ocean Trout with Pickled Cucumber, Nashi and Creme Fraiche, to sweeter options such as the Buttermilk Waffles with Caramelized Figs and Candied Bacon.
