What a great team they have here.
The staff are very friendly and informative on how they do the candy etc.
Very interesting that you can watch them make your candy if you want with your name in it or an image, it is simply amazing.

Approximate cost: $50.00

If you are in Perth for a visit, check out this little shop in Piccadilly Arcade. You might be lucky enough to see the candy maker at work. Oh boy! This is so amazing to watch. I knew it was tough going making rock candy but they have made it an Art form. You can even have your own name moulded into the candy. Brilliant! The candy is a bit on the expensive side but there is a lot of work going into it.

Tucked away in a small arcade off Murray Street Mall was a little shop which caught our eyes. The chap was tipping some red liquid over a tray containing what looked like molten toffee, stirring it so it appeared a red mass of molten goo. He repeated the process in purple and then white. As the goo started to cool he gradually scraped it into a massive coloured blob. this he did with the purple and red mass but the white mass he put on a hook and stretched and pulled it till it was white and shiny. He then combined this coloured goo together in a special way to make a great wad of coloured cylindrical mass. As it was cooling he was drawing it into a thinner cylinder about the size of a finger, all the while the mass was gradually cooling. When it had cooled sufficiently he cut off pieces about half an inch long and hey presto! - roc candy with a purple love heart in the centre, with a white background surrounded by a red border. Very entertaining. The variety of designs ranged from football logos, words, letters, insignia, the range it seemed was only limited by your imagination.
