From fruits to meats to belts, I love that there is good selection of stuff to buy at QVM. Plus I like the fried potshots on a stick thing they sell to people. Though I kind of hate that the ATMs there charge money to withdraw as nowadays people tend to more digital and aim to pay by card as much as possible.

I went to the Queen Vic night market on Wednesday with my family. The selection of food on offer from around the world was fantastic. There really was something for everyone. It was a very plesant evening, sitting outside enjoying some delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere at the market was wonderful and after enjoying our food and drinks, it was very nice to potter around and buy some it and pieces. The children also enjoyed getting a temporary tattoo. I will definitely go back.

While visiting Melbourne I had to visit the historic landmark of the Queen Victoria Market with there assortment of fruit and vegetables, local and imported gourmet foods, cosmetics, clothing and souvenirs. If you visit Melbourne CBD this is a definite must see as I was able to purchase some great bargains. This market is open Tuesday then Thursday to Sunday.

This market is great it offers everything you can think of. Value for money is outstanding. You can get nearly everything you can think of in the one place. Some isle are a repeat of what you have seen before but this is good because you can haggle the price some more with the stall holders.

good value for money on everything. My wife and I go there each fortnight to get our supply of meat and seafood. the fruit is also very good and is always busy, but you can see why when it is so fresh and priced so well. A great day out

I love these markets and visit EVERY single time im in Melbourne. They have the best food section, beats anything, its all in one spot and it also gives you the opportunity to try new things. I did do the foodies tour and i have to say i wasnt overly impressed by our guide's knowledge of the food, he seemed a bit more interested in the history of the building-but it was supposed to be about the food!!
The clothing section is also great too. Again, lots of stall holders with the same/similar so prices are competitive.

Did the foodies tour of the Queen Vic markets. It was okay, paid $40 for it, wasnt sure whether or not it was worth it or not yet. We didn't get to taste a lot of different things but we did get an inside of the history.. The meat and deli sections were awesome. They had a HUGE variety of different and extremely fresh meats, fish and cheeses and fresh veggies. Didnt go through the other stalls as much, But would definitly be a regular if i lived in Melbourne for my fruit and vegg as it was all really cheap too.. Would definitly recommed doing the markets but on your own not with the tour group..

I went to the Queen Vic again recently hoping to find a small purse. After looking at what felt like hundreds of different stalls and seeing many of the same things a number of times I ended up buying a bag from one stall but never did find that small purse. I did buy some baclava from one shop which was delicious.

I also noticed an extremely long line of people at one point in the outside area and at first thought it was for the toilets. Then I realised it was for the ATM! I guess there were a lot of people who realised that many stall holders don't take anything other than cash, it really was the longest line I'd ever seen for an ATM though.

The deli section of the market is definitely my favourite. Purchased some very nice falalfels from one store and hope to return next time I'm in Melbourne for more

I went here recently and they sell a lot of great things that you can't buy anywhere else. Also some of the things there are great prices, but other things are rather expensive. It is very different shopping here than anywhere else.

Another institution after collecting the bread round the corner. They know this trade backwards, offer quick service, a good chook cooked well on the coals infront of you for $15 and some fresh sides if you wish. I hold up on the salt but this is tasty and now some free range birds to boot. GOOD HONEST EATING OUT stuff and a long history to prove they have what it takes to keep winning back people

Besides the fresh food and produce, which are generally of a very high quality and at good prices, the market stalls of the QV markets seem to be all selling the same things for the same prices. Its like there are 5 or 6 stalls, each selling different things, repeated over and over again till all the market floor space is filled. Repetitive and boring. On weekends its incredibly cramped - God help you if you go there with a pram or stroller, as you'll forever be in everyone elses way. Its not a very fun experience at all. Only shop there for the produce - which is again excellent quality and cheap.

I am not a huge fan of the general market, often it is similar stores, but this market is a great place to pick up fresh produce. Great prices and as fresh as it gets. I find weekdays are usually cheaper than the weekend as they know the tourists come in on the weekend and bump the prices up.

I love to go to Queen Victoria Market .. I brought my parents to this market and they love it .. I could find anything that i need in that market .. get the bargain items.. although, the price of the items is not cheap for a market .. its nearly same price as stores.

However , its still good to go to Victoria Market, because Everytime i visited Victoria Market i always buy the American doughnut and the Dutch pancakes... Should Try!

I use to love going to melbourne just so i could go to melbourne market but not these days. I find the market has the same items nearly in each aisle just different prices. you use to be able to get some really good bargains there but nowadays the stalls are either the same price as what you can get the item in a store or dearer. The market is always over crowded and people are always pushing and rude.

I have fond memories of shopping at the Queen Vic Market as a child. Now as an adult I go there again to buy fresh produce, seafoods etc

I mainly stick to the food area and skip the clothing and other stalls.

My one treat is definitely having a hot jam doughnut from the vans!

There are so many market stalls and shops in the Queen Victoria Market, selling gifts, fresh produce, international groceries, clothing, accessories, toys and pet products.

It gets so busy at weekends and during the school holidays, so I prefer to go during the week when the crowds are a little more manageable.

Often go here on weekdays for meat and other shopping. Can get crowded on weekends,so i try to avoid it then.
Sell pretty much anything you can think of. I love their butchers and international foods too.
Lots of aisles selling clothing, bags, toys, hand made goods and specialty stores.
Just watch the quality on some of the imported stuff from China,Have wasted money on few things there.

Great markets for foodies and the quality is fresher, cheaper and better than the supermarket fruit and vege produce. If you shop around, you will notice there are suppliers that sell cheaper and lower quality produce consistently and vice versa.

I always talk to the sellers to get tips on how best to cook a seasonal item.

All the meats, fish and poultry are the same. Sometimes the prices are similar to that of the supermarkets but I am pretty sure it is fresher, no preservatives and very high turnover of stock.

Eggs aplently and so many cheeses, tofus, beers, wines, dried fruits and nuts, legumes, artisan breads, pastries and deli's to choose from.

Bring your own carry bag or baskets. And come for lunch and snack on $2.50 boreks, bratwurst rolls, pies, chicken ribs, salads including pizzas on various but cool bases like beetroot, polenta etc.

There are also some nick-nacks and cheap souvenirs.

Remember to come in Summer for the Suzuki Night Markets with an endless choice of international cuisine with free entertainment and artisan stalls.

I have been to the Queen Victoria Market on different occasions and always found something new and exciting to look at.

There is always a lot of variety there.

Lots of yummy food to eat, lots of Aussie gifts if you have overseas visitors or you are going overseas to give to people. There are clothing (like the Collingwood Footy top my son bought), soap, coffee & tea (I received some nice tea from my son - Lucky me), there is the seafood market and certainly much much more.

I love the Vic Markets. The produce there is the best in the country and there are alot of meats, cheese and delicacies there to choose from. I always buy some of the donuts at the donut van, my Dad used to buy them for us on a Sunday over 40 years ago and did it for years, and I am still a patron there. Bought some great clothes & shoes there too over the years.

I'm lucky enough to live right near the QV Market. It's a Melbourne landmark and has a huge amount of choice across the areas of its deli, fruit and veg and general merchandise areas. The deli is a bit on the pricey side, but full of delicious treats. Try the boraks in the deli - cheap and delicious (that's if you can get near the counter to buy one!)

I'm kicking myself over for not visiting this place any earlier.

I visit Melbourne at least couple of times a year. Each time my friends would ask me 'lets go to the qvm', I was never keen on it. But during my last visit in March I discovered all the years of great food I missed out on.

I don't always like market food. BUT you get plenty of awesome food here ! I was very impressed. drinks were a little on the costly side, but no more than what you pay at restaurants.
