Punjabi Masala Indian Restaurant

We love this place. It's our favourite indian restaurant, and no one beats their butter chicken! When ordering for delivery they have always given us accurate time windows. We have not eaten in before, always take away. The market street shop was a little dark but they have recently moved over to springvale road and although the premises is smaller it is brighter and more accessible.

Whole family went to the restaurant. The air conditioner was not on. Although the waitress was lovely the food was ok. Nothing spectacular.

For the sake of 'fair play' and transparency, I must admit that I have been eating at Punjabi Masala for about four years now and about once every fortnight. I am however fairly new to WOMO...

I'm very keen on Indian cuisine and I've eaten at most of the candidates in the Eastern suburbs.

Punjabi Masala is a curious little establishment as it seems to have been a Wild West taverna or similar in a previous life. It's also tucked into a back street behind Nunawading Railway Station, so you will not find it in your regular travels. Don't be at all concerned if it is fairly quiet during the week, they still do a roaring trade in home delivery and take-away. The decor, as with many Indian Restaurants, is what I describe basically as 'Ye Old Worlde' which is clean but a tad dated. Who cares??? I'm there for great food.

The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is a problem. Genuinely nice people. The food is uniformly excellent and there is a very wide choice of food styles. Some Indian restaurants are very limited in the provincial nature of their menu, but not here; including Asiatic influenced items from the Northern border regions of the country. I even routinely get personalised meal items which are precisely to my personal taste.

If I'm guilty of writing wholly positive reviews its because I wouldn't waste my time just to rubbish a business. This restaurant is recommended without reservation. If you have a favorite Indian dish, you will enjoy it here. As usual, don't ignore the entree's. There are some true gems there as well.

I'm not overly stressed by the price of a retaurant meal. A couple of our local Indian eateries are quite expensive and I've only ditched my old favorite when they compromised on food quality. The good news is that this menu is keenly priced. You get plenty of quality food at a very reasonable price. This restaurant is recommended without reservation. (perhaps other than the decor) If you have a favorite Indian dish, you will enjoy it here. As usual, don't ignore the entree's. There are some true gems there as well.

i was great to go in Indian restaurant,..i loved all, it depends on your test but i loved it. just need to have more comfortable chairs that's it..food is out of words , lovely. i love to go there again and again..otherwise i never waist time on commenting online.

Amazing food. Tastes delicious not too salty or sweet just great tasting Indian food the way it should be, at a reasonable price.

Being a POM, I'm very fussy about my curries!! I tried a few other places, but nothing compares! The staff are really freindly, the take away time was very quick and the food is out of this world! A Pukka Curry!!

Searched for years to find superb quality Indian food like this. Cannot fault it. Good atmosphere,The hosts are lovely - do yourself a favour - try it - worth a drive if you don't live close

I am impressed with this restaurant for many reasons. One is the quality of the food which I believe to be excellent. Another reason for me being impressed is the knowledge and expertise of the management and nature of the service. The restaurant owner/manager regularly makes the effort to personally serve each diner and personally discuss that night's specials.

Good service and very decently priced food. Can take some time to receive your order but worth the wait. Very authentic range of dishes.

After reading the excellent reviews on WOMOW we decided to try this place for dinner on a Saturday night as we always like a good Indian meal. The service was friendly was warm, there was some live music which added to the atmosphere and the importantly, the food was excellent. We had the tandoori platter which offered a great selection of meat dishes. We also had the palak paneer which was delicious. The naan and roti breads were authentic style. Overall we had a great meal and will definitely be going back. They also offer a free delivery service within the local area.

Great restaurant for food and service. they are welcoming to families too. We've eaten there several times and have been very pleased with the lovely food they have served. Their service is friendly and helpful. A great place for a night out. If you like music, go on a Friday night.

Take away is good quality at a decent price. Chicken tikka/butter chicken is great, much better value than some other local places. The breads are also very nice. Consistently good.

We've had food delivered from this restaurant on two occasions now. The first time I found the food to be above average, the second time the food was nice, but not quite as good as the first.. still, it was cheap and yummy and they even sent us a Christmas card!

we had really good night with good rang of cocktail and loved the snapper and garlic prawns and main meal was huge so we had great value , i wish them good luck we will be back soon

Very brief, poorly worded descriptions of meals - caused me to order meals which a main ingredient not listed in the description is something I don't eat. I selected the Mild option for all meals and repeated this again when submitting my order - I couldn't finish mine, it was far too hot, had me in a sweat and not even a cold drink could help, so I pity anyone who has specifically ordered anything 'Hot' here.

They do have an impressively wide range of menu items to choose from, but I've had much, much better for the same prices elsewhere.

Wonderful food prepared efficiently and with courtesy. The food was plentiful and very tasty, made to individual tastes re curry strengths. It is a family run business and they are committed to service. Very reasonable rates for each meals and lunch specials are great.
