A real surprise find in Ballarat. Well executed food that one would be happy to encounter in Melbourne or Sydney. Good use of local produce. Excellent small wine list featuring local wineries by glass and bottle. Well informed staff who can advise intelligently about the menu and wine. Cosy quite surroundings and good table settings. This restaurant deserves more support from the local business community and private citizens alike. A real gem in Ballarat.

I have always had a great experience at the Phoenix Brewery and my last visit didn't disappoint. Their tapas menu and dinner specials are both excellent value and always contain a wide choice of interesting and often seasonal/local produce. The dishes are always cooked perfectly, with well balanced flavors. The staff somehow manage to pull off that difficult balance between being unobtrusive but attentive (a rare find!). The ambiance and layout are relaxed and spacious. The best place to eat in Ballarat, in my opinion.

Very enjoyable meals cooked by a quality chef based upon the way the food was coked and the compexity of the dishes tasted. The venue had a great atmosphere, not too cramped, and good to have a conversation. The music was good in that it would suit most people and was not too loud. The waiter was very prompt and attentive to our needs.

fantastic food and presentation, fantastic Venue, great local wine list and great selection of beers. A most memorable dining experience - maybe the best in ballarat. The price is the one and only criticism as the meals are quite expensive but the quality of dishes is extremely high

I had my 21st in the function room on the bottom level. Although I have never been there for a meal (a bit too exy for a student budget) the catering for my party was reasonably priced with plenty of options, and the food was fantastic!

One of my favourite restaurants in Ballarat. Very classy and fantastic atmosphere. The food is top notch with a really simple yet mouth watering selection. In the past I have had the Rib Eye steak and quail and both were of the highest quality. Highly recommend to anyone seeking an A grade dining experience amongst many duds in Ballarat.

I have dined here on numerous occasions and always been very satisfied with the experience, the waiters are really friendly and helpful, service is quick and the food delicious. The only issue is meals come in small portions, but this allows you to eat an entree and most importantly their delicious deserts!!

Yum, the food here is the best, it is high quality and will melt your taste buds. The last time I went I had the pork belly and I can't wait to go back. It also has a beautiful atmosphere.

We walked in late one night. The kitchen was closing for the night but the chef was able to whip up a few snacks. Very tasty ones! The waiting staff were friendly and helpful. We booked for dinner another night and again everything was good. Great meals and service. The wine list is extensive.

I have been twice for the lunch special. $15 for a main meal and a glass of wine or a coffee/tea/soft drink. The food was great both times, and the service very accommodating, even when my partner took an age to decide.

Have eaten at the Phoenix Brewery a couple of times, was told to try the eye fillet. It was amazing! Medium rare, first time in a bed of veges and the next it came with veges and scalloped potatoes. Cooked to perfection and the rest of the menu looks good. The tapas are also very nice.

WOW this place is great, went there for the first time last week, although have heard nothing but praise for the place since ive moved to Ballarat. Great atmosphere, first class service without being too formal, you even get the option of lemon or lime with your corona's. Great range of Tapas, and one of the best steaks I have ever had (and they didnt mind doing it well done!!!)

I went to the Pheonix Brewery with some friends for a birthday and was impressed with everything about it. The service was fantastic; drink orders taken immediately, opening the menus, reciting the specials. Good "old fashion" service. The food was sensational. I had the vegetable lasagna which melted in my mouth. The orders all came out together with no mistakes. The tapas were brilliant too. Great wine list.

I recently organised a birthday dinner for my partner at the phoenix brewery, and found the staff to be extremely helpful in making it a great night. The service, the food and the ambiance was great, and will definately go back!

I've been here for lunch and dinner and enjoyed it thoroughly each time. I also hosted a party here in their basement cellar. On each occasion the service has been impeccable, the food delicious and the coffee fabulous. Also has a great wine list. The tapas are very popular, however there aren't that many vegetarian tapas options, although there are plenty of vegetarian meal options and the staff are flexible and obliging for special requests.

Great food, on a regularly changing menu, with a good complimentary wine list. They have lunch time specials and quick service for the "lunch at work", which is great. I haven't had a bad meal there yet, and the service is efficient and friendly.
