Peter James Window Cleaning

I was greatly disappointed with the service Peter James Window Cleaning
provided. I had booked the service with Peter James himself and explained
the job was to clean the windows of my late mother's unit. On the
day, Peter called late stating that he was "caught up on another job" and
was sending out other workers. This left me with no choice as to who would
be in and around the property, as I was there alone. I was upset to see
three men arrive, whose country of origin was not Australia, who struggled
to understand what I was saying and nothing like the worker featured on the
Peter James website. In fact the actual photograph used is of a
professionally attired tradesman. I question whether this is a common
practice of Peter James to accept the job but at the last minute make an
excuse and send these workers. The cost of of $200 was overpriced for the
30 MINUTES only
that the worked. Only the windows needed to be cleaned as I had already
washed the sills and flyscreens. I felt vulnerable as I was home alone so
I could not challenge the charge, especially as the corners of the windows
were not finished properly as you could see where they hadn’t been cleaned.
They also left a dirty towel on my kitchen bench, which I left outside for
them to collect, and it was here that I found they dropped coffee cup/drink
bottles in the gutter where the van had been parked. One of the workers
also had a very strong body odour that was present in the house well after
they had left. I contacted Peter James to seek a partial refund of the
charge of $200 but I have had no reply to my request.

We had all the windows in our house cleaned. The job was done pretty well but overall it was a very dissappointing experience. We were quoted $150 on the phone and then this was increased to $225 when the guy looked over the house (he says he quoted $180 on the phone but I had written down $150). This was annoying enough, but when he finished we discovered that there were some windows that he hadn't done. He claimed he was never asked to do those ones - even though the job was for the whole house! We ended up paying him but won't use him again.
