I went to Gail B to purchase a backing for a quilt that I had made. The manager served me and measured my quilt to cut the material needed. When I questioned her I was assured that the material was sufficient and told that she was the professional. She belittled me and I was made to feel like I was a child. I took it back two weeks later to the store when my quilting lady found that it was too short. It had been cut at 170cm instead of 230cm.
On returning to Gail B this same lady, the manager, had a very poor attitude and proceeded to blame me for the problem. I was appalled with how she treated me. I was so angry that I demanded my money back and took my business elsewhere.
When looking at the reviews online I found that this same treatment has been experienced by many. It is hard to believe that with this rude, arrogant, bullying attitude she is still in business.
I will never go to Gail B again even though I have been a customer for many years.

Fantastic fabric store - I love that most of the fabrics are arranged by colour or theme - makes finding what you're after easier. Great range of fabrics.

Prices are higher than what you'd get at Spotlight (which is just down the road), but that's what you get when you compare a large chain store with a smaller specialty fabric store... so is to be expected (and in line with prices you find at other quilting shops)

Overall I love this store for buying special prints you're unable to get through Spotlight or Lincraft.

Amazing fabric and great quality. Thousands of bolts to choose from. Their sales are very misleading very little actually goes on sale and the owners husband stands in the doorway checking bags as people go in and out. It's actually rather intimidating as he is a large man with a loud voice demanding to know what's in your bag. No receipt unless requested and even then it is not itemized just a total. Despite this, it is worth a trip if you are looking for great fabric

I love coming to this cosy shop! It has one of the best patchwork ranges in Melbourne. If you dream of a pattern, you are sure to find it here! Lots of Retro range, packs, templates, they also sell lots of quilts and run their own classes. Gail is very helpful and is happy to order things in if you need something in particular.
Outstanding little shop that does look decieving from the outside, but don't be fooled, it has the works! It is inside Keith Fagg Tiles on Canterbury Rd.

Well worth the trip, friendly services is not always at the forefront from most of the staff although there are one or two very helpful ones. I would keep going back due to the range and you can pick up a few good buys.

This shop is a trap. I never come out empty handed. Love it. I could go every week if i had the money and time. The staff are more than helpful. I love the kits as you see what your quilt will look like when finished. There is so much to choose from.

This is a fantastic quilters shop. They have such a large range of fabrics and the service is amazing. Also fantastic is the packs and patterns, particularly the soft toy patterns.
One of the best quilters fabric stores in Victoria.

Wonderful fabrics, many varieties but the service is shocking.Ask for anything out of the ordinary & it gets thrown in the too hard basket.Refunds with receipt don't exist, exchange for other goods only & within a timeframe that suits them.

This is one of Victoria's largest Patchwork shops with over 10,000 fat 1/4's and in excess of 5,000 bolts of fabric, l make sure l have plenty of time when shopping here as it's just terrific, they also have classes and have some beautiful quilts on show which is great for ideas, lots of patterns, books kits etc available.
