I have been there many times, my favourite place to eat. The food in the restaurant has always been amazing (fine dining quality for a reasonable price). Love the fact that we can always have a few drinks after dinner downstais while listening to a live band.

We came here for dinner in the restaurant upstairs. The bar was quite noisy, and there was a party going on outside so we were quite relieved to find that the sound-proofing was done quite well as it was surprisingly quiet once you get into the restaurant. There wasn't much service, and the food came out very slowly, but most of the food was cooked quite well and was enjoyable.

I spent some time at the restaurant here - somehow I didn't realise that the pub also serves food! The same kitchen is used for both. While the restaurant is lovely, save yourself the money and just enjoy the pub, the atmosphere, and a decent view.

I have been to the Orient a few times for pub meals and drinks - it serves up the regular kind of pub meals such as burgers, sandwiches, pies etc. The drinks are fairly well priced and the staff are friendly enough.

There is a beer garden out the back which lacks any kind of major appeal, much like the rest of the pub really. Being in a good location, the Orient seems to rest on its laurels. It can get away with average ambience and very average food because its on a major tourist strip. This means probably 90% of the clientele are not Sydney locals - there is just nothing that makes this place stand out.
