I have had it with optus I have been a customer for 15 years we had trouble with them about 2 years ago and was told to change plans to the fastest service 40 Mps which cost us $115 per month service improved I coudn't fault it .Then in November last year it started to fail we got told it was congestion and they are working on fixing it it mibht take a couple of days today 6 months later they tell us they can't fix the problem for at least anther 6 months our speed at the moment is 1.3 mps they recommended us to find another provider till they can resolve the situation Optus sucks.
Worst internet service and so is the customer service. one has got answer to my questions and one of their employees even answerd me rudely they were like this is what we gonna give you if you are fine with the service you can go on or else find some other provider. It's too disgusting. I waited for 15 days to get connected and then no speed more than 2 mbps this is what they answered me even it is adsl2+.

Had problems with my computer setting up wireless router. Got onto the IT Help line & they were fantastic. We were on the phone for over an hour, trying to sort out the problem. Very helpful & friendly.

moved house, booked it in with optus, called them 2 weeks before moving and found out that they didn't put the order through, their manager only called me back two days later and told me there is nothing they can do, that's it. we ended up with no phone and internet connection for a week after we moved...so disappointed.
optus internet is fast reliable and efficient and if you run into problems these guys know there stuff and are more than eager to help you fix your hassles pronto
I had extremely bad problems trying to connect broadband with optus. I had been paying for the connection for more than 2 weeks, but had not service. Technical support seems to be handled completely by India and they do not seem to understand the problems.
I used to be with TELSTRA only to have many problems and getting charged heaps. When i moved i changed to OPTUS. it was the best thing i ever did. I have everything hooked up together and get a awesome fee for it. They have the best customer service around. Ill b with them for many years to come
The best I've experienced with any Customer support has to go to Optusnet. They had a malfunction in March 2009 and while I was unaware of this I was downloading to update a new computer and I had thought all was done so went to bed only to find out in the morning all was lost and I had used all my data allowance for the month. The customer support person was just great they gave me BACK as a bonus 7GB of data allowance to get me through the month so as I could redownload the information I needed. Would not ever use anyone else but OPTUS have been with them since thier beginning and would necer leave.

moved house and no other phone and ISP was able to get my phone and internet connected but my order was delayed first by telstra and then within a week of being connected i was back to dialup soon this was fixed and credit given then some months after I had been with them they changed from charging for downloading only to being charged for both uploads and downloads but I was never told of the change, then after I changed to another ISP I kept getting emails and sms about my Optus bill being online.
I switched to OPTUS just a few weeks ago, having cancelled my contract with another provider due to the appauling service that I was receiving. I'm really impressed with both the product that I have chosen (home phone and internet bundled) and the excellent service that I've had so far. Nothing has been too much trouble and I have 10 times the usage under this contract for about the same as I was paying with the other mob!
Just to connect to Optus I had to sit on the phone many times and always over 30 minutes. I had moved address and prior to moving I had ADSL and so wanted to continue with what I had, but they told me I couldnt do it. The reason I wanted this was I had spent a lot of money on wireless router. So that was money down the drain. Then they didnt turn up when they told me to. Plus I found out they could have offered me wireless internet for the same price instead of having to pay for home line and internet. I was not very happy and once contract runs out I will be going else where.
we have used optus for a while now and find they meet all our internet needs as well as being good value for the money we spend, the service on the phone is a bit slow but overall they are good
Transferred broadband internet service from old residence in Melbourne to new residence in Sydney. They made a mess of my account by changing using name unnecessarily resulting in loss of email accounts which were finally resurected.
They over charged us for phone calls we never made to Somalia in Africa, when we tried to cancel our connection they made it difficult for us and they kept disconnecting our internet connection.

We are totally disilusioned with optusnet broadband. We were having regular outages, they continually change the plan perameters and price without advising.
The customer service is absolutely shocking - we have spent many hours on the telephone with them - what a waste of time
Optusnet have been a pain to deal with to be honest. From day dot when we called before we switched to check what we wanted was possible they assured us it was. But it wasnt once we connected. The last three weeks have been filled with outages- evidence I'm not the only one can be found on the whirlpool forums. I'm tired of the thirty different stories I get when I call up and the fact they won't even admit to outages. It's just exhausting!
Today I upped our broadband plan online with a request it be done within 24 hours. My son was thrilled to bits that they upgraded us within 3 hours!!!!!!!! That's what I call service :)
Not that it affected us (this time), I will say that their plan changes make them a bit more expensive than others I've seen of late. Optus have abolished their "yes data" which was a bonus data feature that attracted us in the first place. Once our contract expires I'll be looking elsewhere if this LOSS remains!!

Wireless broad band internet providor for our region was better value for money however the connection speed is compromised. We changed from Telstra big pond for more gigabytes, however looks like we have slower connection speed.
The customer service of Optus really needs to improve. First of all, the wait is so long once I had to wait over an hour and half/nearly two hours. As well as that, the answers I have received were not consistent and no one seems to know what is going on. I have had one or two great reps but most of them don't seem to know what they are on about or just to transfer me to different departments who in turn to transfer me again. It took 2 months to change from my old provider to the Optus, and I only put up with it because of Optus' great valued products. As long as nothing goes wrong, I'm pretty happy with the value and quality of my Internet/Phone.

I like optus for broadband because when i go passed my download limit i dont get charged for the excess , it just gets speed limited down to very slow but i prefer this than a horrendously frightening bill . However optus just changed this for new subscribers so i am starting to look for better Isps soon . Also service is shockingly hard to get through .2 hour waits are common
I made the biggest, most frustrating decision when I changed over my ISP to optus. The whole drama would seriously need 100's of lines of text to even begin to describe what happened. From having to take 2 days off work to let a "service technician" in to connect. I then spent over 13hrs in total on hold with still no answers. I then had a customer service rep call me at my office to tell me that i was a valued customer (over $5000pa) and he was going to sort out a special package for all of my services. Guess what 6 weeks, still waiting for my SPECIAl offer. I will never recommend optus.
We recently changed internet service to Optus as the package offered was ideal. We even changed our home phone #. Then the technical problems started. We were without internet for a couple of weeks and spent endless hours on hold (the catchy Optus music isn't so catchy after an hour) trying to speak to a human being. A month later all fixed, and the bill didn't take long to arrive either.
I've been with Optusnet for several years now and as a cable internet user I find this service to be outstanding. Internet speeds are adequate for my needs and download large files is all too easy. However, for 12 GB of downloads per month I'm paying a bit more than I'd like to.
Lately I have been disappointed with the quality of Optus' customer service, particularly when calling them. It is wildly disparate depending on which area of the organisation you are contacting. The small business section (which manages my mobile accounts) is great and you can speak to someone almost immediately, but the consumer division, especially Internet, is woeful. The first five times I called and battled through the voice recognition software, it hung up on me. The next time, I was on hold for over an hour. All this to change my payment details, which can't be done online. Not good enough. I'll be moving ISPs as soon as my contract is up.
