I have to rate quality here on the quality of the screening process of the website itself. As I found a lot of the people I met up with were not even close to who they said they were in their profiles and this seems to be quite common. I believe internet dating websites should have figured out a way to stop people from cheating on their profiles by now - especially seeing that I have spoken to several females who have caught up with men who have posed a threat to them - stalkers, potential violent offenders etc. This site is free to use and can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a complete waste of time. My advice if you are going to use this site, number one, is to be careful, number two, before meeting up in person try and do as much of your own screening as possible, and just try to be as careful as possible ie. meet somewhere public and tell one of your friends where you are meeting them beforehand.
This is a fun website for making new friends and an alternative way to get dates, although you have to be careful about who you add to your contacts because there are some people who are not genuinely interested in a real relationship. I've made a few friends from here. Just have to ignore the rude people.

This is an alterate way to chat and potentially meet someone who can become a friend. It may lead to more, if not, it feels like you are putting yourself out there with the pace that you are comfortable with.

I LOVE oasis, it is far more user friendly than other dating sites, You don't have to worry about a witty, cool, outstanding first message, you just send them a request saying why you would like to connect. Once they Accept you, you can chat on IM or send a Message.
Also, If someone sends you a request, you can decline and give them a reason as to why, You don't have to, but you can of you want to.
The features are easy to use, You can block someone from the IM window if they get a little creepy, Lets face it, the site is free and this is the Internet, there are some bad apples on here as well. Although as far as I have seen, not HALF as many as other sites, Free, pretending to be free, or paid. But also bear in mind, this site is relatively new.

You can rule out people who speak foreign languages you cannot speak,
there is no restriction on how many carachters your "about me" bit which is handy so you can complete the profile set up, without having to think of what to write on the spot.
There is a "Seeking Criteria" and you can tweak it so that only members who fit your criteria can contact you, although at present the options are limited and vague.
There is a "I am Looking for" section where you can give a brief description of what you are looking for.
