Noosa Pit Stop - NOT REALLY & NO THANKS!

My car was in their workshop for over 5 weeks, not once did they call to give me an update. The price slowly increased to over $4000, until i said enough. I took my car to another repairer, who did a better job for cheaper...

Tried to insist I needed hundreds of dollars of unnecessary work done for a roadworthy to sell my car. Including a perfectly good windscreen quoting "micro chips" were the fault. ie. Chips you couldn't see. They also claimed it need a rocker cover gasket replaced, a job I had done 12 months and 10,000kms ago. When I questioned that, they shrugged. They also suggested I add the costs to the selling price, which is none of their business frankly. They were using tactics to try to force me to get $600 of work done to a roadworthy car. Took my car to another mechanic, NONE of this work they quoted was necessary. Will never go there again, and will actively tell people to avoid them.

This is untrue and I think you must have taken your car to a dodgy mechanic to get your car RWC. I have several cars and I get them all maintained by Noosa Pit Stop. Most of the time there is a loan car available for me and on the odd occasions where one is not then they allways get me where I need to go. If something does not need to be done they tell me, the idea such an established business would be risking there reputation over $600 is obsurd to be honest. Some Mechanics need your $90 for a RWC because they are dodgy and risk huge fines once they get caught, and they all get caught. So to sum it up sounds like you sold a car knowing that it did not meet Australian standars with a dodgy RWC. If you take your car to any mechanic and do not trust what they tell you ask them to show you, if its an internal part then get a second opion from a delership.
