Having not built before we engaged Kevin from New Home Inspections for a Building Contract review. They completed the building contract review and highlighted areas to change in our building contract which saved us $1,000's later.
After each stage New Home Inspections would visit our site and produce a detailed report with photos which could be 8-10 pages. From this we would present this reported to our builder to address the issues raised.
We would not have a clue as to all the items listed in the report from framing not braced as detailed in specifications to not proceeding in tiling before water proofing was correctly done. Checking insulation was correctly installed, as if not there would be an on going cost with heating and cooling. This is only a few examples of many items identified
Having New Home Inspection reports does not allow the builder to proceed to the next stage if they had proceeded you would never be aware of issues that may become costly later on to rectify. The builder was always keen to say that a stage is completed and they are ready to commence to the next stage, but to have New Home Inspections report and have items addressed before moving on gave us great peace of mind.
New Home Inspections can talk the talk when it comes to building new homes and gave us the confidence to address issues with the builder.
If we did build again we would definitely use Kevin from New Home Inspections again.

I have been a fan of New Home Inspections for the last 9 years.

I used New Home Inspections for my first house 9 years ago which was built by Carlisle with an idiot of a supervisor. Serious issues discovered with the slab and framework were fixed and when the build was escalated to the regional supervisor, Kevin was able to work with the new supervisor to get my house up to scratch.

I am now onto house #2 and this time I have invested in the whole package: slab pre-pour with follow-up, framing, plaster, the optional waterproofing and I have just finished up with the pre-handover (follow up to be booked soon).

I will never build a house without an independent inspection as the extra expense is tiny compared to the headache of fixing these issues later down the track.

I have seen many reports such as pre-purchase inspections and new build reports but these are the most thorough and diligent I have come across. I found their prices to be competitive but more importantly, I found the quality of the report to be exceptional and this helped when liaising with builders and having defects rectified. An excellent service and we'll definitely use this company again.

Used these guys for periodic inspections when building a new home. Found them to be reliable and professional. There fees were reasonable and their customer service was outstanding. They were always happy to explain anything from their reports or answer my questions. I'm glad I used them and would do so again in the future. They picked up on things that I would never had noticed, and having it in writing really helped in convincing the builder to comply with my requests.

When building a new home, it's imperative to get a building inspector to ensure that your house is built according to all the relevant building guidelines and regulations as well as to a high quality. The side benefit of getting a building organiser is that your builder will most likely be more on their toes and build your home better to start with!
Kevin from New Home Inspections has an excellent reputation amongst the building trade for picking up on things that your builders generally don't. For our home, Kevin picked up on a number of critical issues which the builders subsequently fixed. Without Kevin picking up on these things, we're certain it would have resulted in medium-long term issues for our hew home. Kevin is thorough, punctual and provides an excellent service for the money paid. He is generous with his advice, and will not over-recommend too many inspections for you (some inspectors recommend that you get one done after every stage). We've definitely gained much more peace of mind knowing that Kevin's been involved in the building of our new home.
