Rarely do you come across such hospitable venues. You could be forgiven for almost forgetting that it is a commercial venture, and slip into thinking of it as a friend/relative's place.
If appearances are anything to go by, you would probably walk past this place without a pause. But of course appearances are not everything, so if you can shrug off the 'ugly ducking' mantra good things lie within!
Once inside those doors, you will find a very comprehensively stocked wine cellar and an equally impressive selection of beers/ciders. Don't worry if you feel lost or overwhelmed by your surrounds, the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and happy to act as tour guide or equally happy to stand back so that you can feast your eyes and explore undisturbed.
They have a daily blackboard offering a selection of wines to buy & try by the glass. Feel free to sip and enjoy as you would normally do - over a book or with friends, they have an outdoor area and cosy little back room lined with books, art, memorabilia etc especially for this purpose.
Alternatively, you can also buy any of the bottles from the racks, uncork and drink them there.
Responsible drinking is encouraged and this place makes it easy and inexpensive. Rather than a bar menu featuring the usual offerings of cheeseboard, ploughmans or dips platter, at an outrageous price, Cellar Door welcomes you to BYO! There is a good number of cafes, bistros and other eateries within close distance, that offer takeaway. Simply bring your snacks or meal, along with a buddy if you wish, to this place and either pick or have one of the staff suggest a good vino to pair with your food. They do have some basic food available if you want - a few cheeses and baked items - but the focus is on wine and they don't try to capitalize on the accompanying sidelines.
So refreshing. A real gem.

A fantastic concept- i visited the 'Wine Bar' with some friends who are locals. Superb service, the wine tasting and offering was professional and a highly enjoyable experience. We made some dishes at home (pastas and salad) and bought it there to be complimented with their fantastic reds! A must if you're in the area!

This little gem is a great place for BYO food! Just purchase a bev from the wide selection of wines, beer, cider, ale etc! Nice outside section which is perfect for a sunny afternoon and a small area in the back. Can get very crowded and loud especially on the weekend. Loved by the locals, it is treasured asset to mordys chilled out beach town vibe. Friendly staff too!

The Wine Bar as it's known locally is a great place. I have been in the morning for a coffee and in the evening to enjoy the wines. They have a BYO food concept so you can go to the supermarket and buys things to eat or you can order something from a local takeaway. Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgable staff.

This is both a wine cellar and a wine bar that also has fantastic beer and coffees s well as delicious cakes. I have been here several times for coffee and cake and once to taste some of their wines on offer (and buy a couple bottles!). It's a very laid back atmosphere and you have a choice of seating, either outdoor on the pavement or in the back. It is a little cramped, but that makes it even more cozy. If you want, you can even BYO your own food (the opposite of most cafes), but we never have because we enjoy their in house choice.
