The food there is really good but a little over priced. The service was great and our waiter was charming.. We sat in the outside area which was nice as it was a sunny day.
Approximate cost: $25
Moods is located in a great spot hence it is always well frequented. I haven't been thrilled with the food quality, but I go there as they offer some unique items not found nearby. They have a Sunday breakfast buffet which is reasonably priced. They also sell a large range of decadent cakes like tim tam. They also sell homemade ice-cream which is equally decadent.
First time having a meal at Moods.
We've gone past the cafe numerous times on walks around Berwick and the cafe has usually been quite crowded.
During the warmer times there were always people sitting outside having their meals and they looked like they were enjoying themselves.
So we decided to try them out.
The service was acceptable and the food served within a reasonable period of time.
The quality was satisfactory as expected and the quantity more than enough.
The price was typical Berwick prices - a little more than you'd expect to pay for the quality, but again, reasonable for the quantity.
Overall an ok experience and meal.
The views from the cafe were quite nice and in summer I would imagine that with the trees having all their leaves the scenery would be even better.
One item that surprised me was the furniture in the cafe. It reminded me of cheap, school cafeteria type tables and chairs. Not good folks.
I've found that while many cafes and restaurants offer a reasonable meal as far as quantity is concerned I wish that they would either increase the quality the food in the meal or reduce the quantity and the price.
we have been to this cafe many times, and that is a good sign! our favourite part is the desert section, so it is always great to drop in for a cup of coffee. they can take a little too long to serve when they get busy though.
Dined at Moods today for lunch with my 4 and 1 year olds.
We were seated, but then after waiting some time I had to go up and ask to order.
33 minutes after we finished ordering, our food arrived. During that time, a friendly waitress came over and offered to check what the delay was. She said she'd been 'on the kitchen's back' all day, and that our meals were definitely coming. She checked on us 3 times and offered us drinks and I was very happy at her caring and sincere attitude.
When I went to pay, well that was another story.
The waitress asked how everything was, and I said 'the meals were nice when they came out, but waiting just over 30 minutes with 2 kids was not ideal'
She said to me 'Yes, sorry about that. Lunch today is busy'.
To which I replied 'I understand that, and I know it's not your fault the kitchen is busy, but perhaps it would be nice to let customers know when they enter so they can choose to go elsewhere if needed'.
And she said 'Normally the kitchen let us know if there's a delay, so we can let YOU, the consumer know, but today they didn't, so sorry about that' *insert insincere tone*
So which is it- the first waitress had been on the kitchen's back 'all day', but the second waitress claims to have had no knowledge that there was any delay.
I won't be back as
1) her attitude was appalling
2) the kitchen was ridiculously slow
This place is ok, not one of the best in Berwick, but it's more affordable than some of the others. I only like it for the variety they have on their menu. And agree that the cakes are delicious! I've only been for dinner, the service was slow at times & the meals are ok that come out. Moods is a bit like a pub in terms of their variety
Approximate cost: $20
Visit here occasionally for coffee and cake - they have a great variety of desserts and ice-creams. Well priced. Service is sometimes good and they are very attentive, however other times you barely even get noticed. Has a good relaxed atmosphere and is ideal for catching up with friends.
I love this place! Real great food, great portions and prices are very, very good. Love coming here not just for the food and cocktails but also because the atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and this place is great for families too
Not the best place for a meal but OK for a coffee and cake. Best thing is their range of desserts and ice-creams. Don't advise going there when its busy (Friday & Saturday nights) as the service can be slow. Good variety on the menu but a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. They do however do a buffet breakfast on a Sunday which although I have not been for breaky I hear its very nice. Would mildly consider recommending depending on the reason people wanted to go there.
Approximate cost: $from $5
Not a bad place for a meal, but not the best either. Best thing is the range of desserts and ice-creams. Bit overpriced for the quality of the food. Don't go here during busy times (Friday & Saturday nights) as the service can be slower. Good variety on the menu too.
Amazing food! Always incredibly busy though. Plenty of vegetarian options, which is a major drawcard for me, because I need variety! My only issue is that $20+ a meal is a bit too expensive.
Have a lovely area to sit and chat with a coffee and cake as well as an area to enjoy a meal. Great selection of cakes and food.
We came for lunch. It was very noisy. We had to wait a very long time for our food to arrive....When it did come it was very average. I don't think we will be dining here again.
Approximate cost: $18
We took teenage children for a birthday and found there was plenty on offer for everyone. The teenages love the mocktails and the opportunity to dress up. This is a great place for families to take children to old for fast food and who don't appreciate fine dining.
Approximate cost: $20.00
Very disappointed in this place. Cutlery was dirty, and a food bowl for our order still had sauce from a previous customers order on it. Thought we would try the cake, thinking that would be okay, only to find that it tasted stale, and like it had been sitting there for a few days. Not happy with this place.
It's great place to go. People are friendly and the foods is yummy. Great place to catch up with friends
Moods is always a good option to catch up with friends.
Service can be a little slow - but the staff are always very friendly and approachable.
Last time I was there ( Last week) the TV was on playing music videos and it was super busy. It was way too noisy and it really bugged me as it was hard trying to talk with the extra noise in the background!
The food is pretty good (especially Breakfast on Sundays), the prices are more than reasonable. The location and venue are great however the thing that lets it down is the staff. Don't get me wrong they are very friendly but very slack in getting to you, to take your order, clean your table and good luck at getting a drink refill. I don't go there as often as I used to because I saw a steady decline in the service - but I repeat the staff are very friendly so if you can overlook or expect not great timing of the service then go there to eat their food or their gelati (yum).
Approximate cost: $20
Moods has fluctuated in its service and quality over time. Is very noisy on weekend nights. can tend to get our orders wrong.
Approximate cost: $25
Casual, bright and very loud cafe with a wide selection of things to eat plus a fabulous ice cream bar. The service is friendly however it tends to be very slow but the food is fresh and the servings are generous.
Approximate cost: $20
Great place to meet friends for a casual meal. It's a loud place though and not very private dining. Service is always good though.
Awesome place to come for breakfast so much to choose from staff were friendly place was tidy would go back again.
The restaurant is loud, as in the acoustics of the place, which can make it hard to have conversations. Food and service is average.
Moods is a great place for a casual meal, with inexpensive offerings and a wide ranged menu.
The staff are friendly and the ambience is bright.
Only issue would be the potential weight gain from eating their amazing-looking cakes.
Approximate cost: $15
moods cafe was awesome. the food was great, the staff were great and on top of all that its a good breakfast. if you go there on a sunday its a all you can eat. and its only like 17 dollars what more could you want
Approximate cost: $17
I've never been overly impressed with the service it is always on the slow side so we don't tend to eat here any more as by the time the food has arrived i'm normally over it. It does get quite loud so not the best for a romantic dinner. The food however is lovely. We stop in on hot days instead now to get a ice cream they have the best range it's hard to decide.
On a Saturday night at 6:30 my partner and i went out for tea. The service was excellent, old fashioned service and it was great to see that all the staff ie waiters and waitresses, seemed to want to be there! Great food, nice ambience. Lamb shanks to die for! Oh and don't forget the chocolate pud.
Approximate cost: $25.00
It's always pretty busy and it would be worth booking if you go on a Sat or Fri. While at times it can be too loud it has a fairly good vibe. The staff here take a really long time to serve you, both when you arrive and once they have seated you. But there is a great selection of cakes, cocktails and ice cream and they are usually open until about 11.
My wife and I stop past for brunch or a quiet morning coffee nearly every weekend, it used to be a well kept secret but seems to be getting quite busy now, no matter what time you go. They have a really big range on their menus so no problems finding something for everyone. We like it best in summer to sit outside and enjoy a cooked breakfast with our coffee, very relaxing. The food is reasonably priced but service can be a bit slow sometimes.
Been here many times and always good. The breakfast is great, yummy pancakes with lots of topping choices. Really enjoyed mid-week lunch and appreciated that they happily made space for prams.
