My mother had her fridge delivered to Macquarie Appliance Service in Dubbo, in September 2015. She had forgotten about it and decided to chase it up in the second week of November. After many phone calls to the office number and leaving messages with no response, she asked me to chase it up for her. I drove the 70kms to Dubbo and found the business closed with an old piece of paper stuck to the door and a mobile phone number on it. I got in touch with them and was told I'd be called back the next Tuesday. When I
received no call and chased them up on the Wednesday they wouldn't pick up. I sent a text instead saying I would come to pick up the fridge the next Saturday morning, and I received a reply saying that the fridge would be left out the front of the shop! I rang the shop next door who said that Macquarie Appliance Service is rarely open. I organised another fridge repairer in Dubbo to take the fridge and organised to borrow a trailer, and he told me that Macquarie Appliance Service has a very bad reputation and is suspect in fraudulent behaviour, as other customers' appliances have disappeared. I don't know what is going on but this person does not seem honest
