This is the BEST Chinese take away i have ever had (and I've tried a few!). The taste is delicious, the quality of the ingredients is great, no yukky msg aftertaste, not heavy on the garlic which I love!, the servings generous, the variety is perfect and the price is such good value. I will not go to another chinese take away :) Dont change a thing!

Good quality, service okay, did have a longish wait for meals to come out but they seemed very busy so understandable. Came here with some work friends and all of us were very satisfied.

Louie's dishes are some of the best Chinese meals we've had in a long time. Don't go without ordering the Cantonese Beef noodle, the wife and kids are hooked on it. Some of Melbourne's top Chinese restaurants can take a leaf out of Louie's, the food, the service, remembering what the customer had ordered previously. Small things that make the experience pleasant.
Louie's reminds me a lot of Nat King Cole's song "Unforgettable".

Absolutely magic, one of the best Malaysian Fried Rice (Spicy) I've had since visiting K-L. My friends and I have our weekly fix, some of tastiest meals around the Bentleigh vicinity and I would go as far as Richmond, befor finding anything close to taste, quality, service and pricing.

I recommended Louie's Kitchen to a number of mates from the other side of the Westgate and they love it, our monthly get together treats at home rather than the barbie.

After doing a search on Szechuan in Bentleigh, I was presented with this WOMO page. I read through the 3 pages of reviews and thought .. yes, this is somewhere we should try.

My partner and I got in our car at 4:45 and headed down to Louie's kitchen. Took 15 minutes to get there. We ordered out obligatory salt and chilli squid.. the szechuan chicken, peking pork chops, chicken and corn soup, special fried rice, 4 dim sims. We thought it would be a lot of food, but we were prepared to fridge the leftovers and eat lunch over a few days. We should have realised that a few days was actually a week :) $60 (yes, you're reading that right) goes a LONG way at Louie's. How were the dishes? Let me preface this statement by explaining that we eat Chinese a lot - even going to China and Hong Kong to indulge. We know good quality, authentic Chinese in all its scrumptious flavours.

Each of the dishes was superb. Not just one dish, or even two. All of them. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes - especially the crispy chicken.

The squid .. incredibly soft, was this soaked in sour milk?! Very little fishy taste and an amazingly subtle flavour that one can only get from good quality ingredients. Just the right amount of spice .. but with their chilli sauce to compliment it nicely. The pork was tantalizingly moist and the sauce complimented it just right. What a sauce it was!

The same could be said of the szechuan chicken. Using chicken breast was a nice touch, particularly because the meat was cooked to perfection. It was incredibly tender and juicy. Nice! All the vegetables were cooked exactly as they should have been. Crisp. Fresh. Full of flavour.

Louie's is one of those places that Anthony Bourdain would love to find. Its one of those true gems. Somewhere that becomes an icon over time. In our mind, it already is. We're so very glad that we've found somewhere of this quality at these prices.

You could go to any Chinese fine dining restaurant in Melbourne (or even Sydney) and not get food as good as this.

The best part? We have 4 more days of food in our fridge :)

Thanks Louie's Kitchen - from Colleen and Oliver

We found this place by accident while sitting at the lights at Bentleigh East. It was advertised as "from the Inn of China" (a great restaurant in Ormond, a few kilometres away). I found out from the young man at the counter that his dad was a chef for many years at the Inn of China and now owned Louies Kitchen. We ordered the Szechuan Beef, Salty Squid with Chili Pepper, special fried rice and 3 steamed home made dim sims. The beef was as tender as I've ever tasted, and the szechuan sauce was spicy and delicious. The calamari was cooked to perfection and lightly salted and spicy, and melted in the mouth. The dim sims were the best I've ever tasted, and the special fried rice was a generous serving. I highly recommend this hidden gem - the decor might not be as modern as some other places; instead they pour all their energy into creating delicious food at Louies Kitchen. They also deliver on a Friday and Saturday night. You will NOT be disappointed.

After not having any sort of take-a-way for sometime due to some sickness in the family, last night we decided to give Louie's a call. We were very pleased to have see our order was made prompt and without delay. The quality of the food was top notch and most enjoyable. After consuming our delightful meal we were left very satisfied and full! I would wholeheartedly encourage and recommend any discerning lovers of Chinese cuisine to give Louie's ago!

We ordered takeaway from here and were very happy with the service and quality of the food. Everything was made fresh and they did not use MSG. We will definitely order from here again (first time order we got free dim sims!)

Great food, much better and healthier than the competition. But please add more vegetables to your beef and black bean! Staff are also super-friendly, which is always nice. Keep up the good work!
