Evie was our waiteress beautiful service. Ordered way to much food but was able to bring leafovers home. Thank you for a lovely experience, hope to get back early next year. Susan from Pakenham.
I've been going to this restaurant for 30 years The experience I had last time I went there on 22/12/2018 night was the most horrible I've ever had in my entire life.
I made a booking over the phone with the Voucher we were given the last time we went there. On a phone we specifically asked If we can share the voucher between two people. Lady on the phone confirmed that we can.
On our arrival the waiter gave us one voucher menu and then another menu to order more food despite we stated we were not ordering more. She then started insisting to order more, so we ordered overpriced garlic bread. That was not enough, another waiter came up and rudely advised that they were not going to serve us.
I stated again that we were advised different when made the booking and ask to tell this to the Manager. Management approached us and said that we were rude to his staff and have to leave. He was so rude that did not even try to apologise for his staff making mistakes and to make us happy and openly said we can sit there for ever without being served and our membership has been cancelled.
We were refused to be served based on nothing, nothing on the voucher indicated that it can not be shared between two people.
Ruined evening.

When a Business gives a gesture of good will it is very disrespectful to not only challenge the terms and conditions on the voucher however, then rudely insult staff members and nearby customers. It is simply unfair to vent your anger when it was purely a case of you not getting your own way with a complimentary voucher that we had given you based on our generous nature. We have the right as a Restaurant that has been serving customer's for over 30 years to refuse service when it becomes beyond. In this case not only was your behaviour unacceptable it is also something we haven't witnessed before and no one has to tolerate abuse in that form. You forgot to mention in your review the terrible abuse that you put our staff member's through. We appreciate the fact that you will never return as our Staff and our other patrons deserve nothing but the very best.
This review is currently being investigated by the Word of Mouth team and it does not affect the business' overall rating.
We got a scoupon voucher to go here and it was definitely worth it. Really cool to experience high luxury eating without the price tag. Romantic atmosphere and lovely staff made for a delicious and pleasant experience
Thank you and we appreciate the feedback.
We dined here with a Groupon and you get treated the same as if you were a full paying customer. The service was exceptional, we were made to feel really special and the food was faultless - fresh, high quality and delicious. We will be back!
Thank you for your perfect review. So happy enjoyed the evening. Many thanks.
We had an amazing evening here tonight. The service was so lovely, the atmosphere, lighting and music were comfortable and right on point. But the scallops! They were the best scallops I have ever had!
Thank you for your perfect review. So happy enjoyed the evening. Many thanks.
Lovely spot for a fancy dinner in Beaumaris. If you celebrate your birthday, you get free shots and chocolates
Thank you for your perfect review. So happy enjoyed the evening. Many thanks.
Amazing food here! It is quite pricey so generally somewhere for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. Occasionally they have lunch specials- usually midweek- or a voucher special and you can get a good deal for a 2 or 3 course meal. Definitely great for a treat!
Thank you for your perfect review. So happy enjoyed the evening. Many thanks.
They are a little bit expensive, but the food and service are nothing short of fantastic. It is well worth the dining experience when you want to spoil yourself and partner.
When we entered we were shown to our table which was setup beautifully. We ordered the Seafood Platter which had everything you could think of in the way of Seafood. Service we could not complain about it was good. Thank you for a lovely night and meal. Highly recommend you try just once to experience this restraunt. It is a little expensive but well worth it. Seafood Platter was for two at this price.
Approximate cost: $119.90
Checkout menu online, the Seafood Platter is normally $199 for 2 some celebrities dine there too from what I was told.
Amazing! I went with a voucher as I love love love seafood and I'm so glad I did. I went with my partner and between us we had chicken, steak, flathead, lobster tail, creme brulee and sorbet. The chicken and steak were perfectly cooked and juicy, and the seafood was fantastic. We also had a bottle of a really lovely chardonnay and finished with complimentary irish cream shots and biscuits. The service was also incredible; I felt like royalty. I will definitely be going back!
This place has been around for years & the menu doesn't appear to change greatly. The menu looks vast but it' s actually a few dish options but with many sauces available. To busy, has a great name. Does a bit too much advertising, everyone appears to pay with some sort of voucher. Sorry, but a little over rated for my liking.
I purchased a groupon voucher for 3 course lunch here. I had the seared scallops for entree, lobster tail grilled for main and vanilla bean ice cream for dessers and a glass of wine. It was pretty good deal for $59 for 2 people given that this is a classy restaurant, but I wouldn't pay full price. They also give you free baileys on the rocks and shortbread biscuits at the end.
Great service. Great food. Extremely generous portion sizes - we couldn't finish all of our food, which was a shame as it was so tasty! Decor excellent, with muted colours and subtle lighting. Decent cutlery with starched linen. Beautiful (and clean) fish tanks that made the restaurant look lively, and were really in keeping with the theme of the restaurant.
Can't find any fault with this restaurant except maybe there shouldn't have been quite so much upselling - as franm4 said below me, the little extras like the bread platter to start with, etc, added up. However the complimentary desserts and drinks were a lovely touch, and I will most likely return if I'm in the area.
The food is good, although quite a traditional menu. If you like seafood you will not be disappointed. Staff are very nice but also extremely skilled at upselling, all the little extras can add up to a very nice bill if you are not careful.
I have been to the Lobster Cave recently. The food was absolutely delicious and the meal sizes were larger than expected and were more than enough to satisfy everyones apetite.
Went here with high expectations and was a little disappointed. Shared a seafood platter for two - was fresh and tasty but nothing too exciting. Expected more from it for the price (in terms of quality not quantity). Staff were friendly and very attentive. The complimentary dessert was a nice touch.
Incredibly amazing food, delightful for a seafood fan such as myself!
Definitely advise the seafood platter, and their lunch specials are amazing!
Service makes the price worth it.
Approximate cost: $60-80
found that this restaurant is just to over hyped and is really over priced $167 for a whole lobster, when got it for $65 at crown, staff fantastic, just way over priced for the quality of food
Approximate cost: $70.00
We ate at lobster cave for the first time recently. The service was excellent. Our prawns were very fresh, oysters were very average. The main disappointment was that the calamari and fish were under cooked. We certainly were surprised with that the fact that batter was literally raw. other than that everthing else good.
A very enjoyable meal. Service is fantastic always a warm greeting and smile. Staff are efficient and experienced. Meals are so enjoyable. The seafood is so fresh and so well presented. Its a complete cullinary delight.
Wow! The food was great! Pricey, but worth it. Service was as expected and the restaurant had a surprisingly casual atmosphere which was a nice change from some other fine dining restaurants.
I took my partner here for his birthday dinner because he loves seafood. I'm not a huge lover of seafood....but i loved this place! The herb & garlic bread we ordered was served with olives & dips - so yummy! I ordered a 3 course set dinner menu which included the salt & pepper squid as an entree, there was enough for the 2 of us & it was amazing! I then had some battered whiting fish & my fiance ordered the 'Ferginator' (one of their signature dishes) and it was huge! I also had chocolate pudding which we both still managed to finish. The food was amazing, an expensive dinner ($250) but we worth it & i wouldn't say expensive for the quality of food & amount of food we got. The service was the best i have had at any restaurant. Can't wait to go back!
This is a great restaurant for special occasions. Prices can be high depending on what you order but the quality is excellent. The service is great but not overwhelming . With a large group everyone was extremely pleased with the food they chose.
Approximate cost: $50
We love the Lobster Cave. As it is pretty pricey we save it for birthdays and anniversaries, but you can't fault the quality of the food or the level of service. I'm sure the restaurant could operate with half the number of staff, so it is impressive to see so many, all with their assigned duties. We last went to take advantage of their advertised specials, which meant it wasn't so expensive as usual! But overall, if you like good seafood, especially lobster, you won't be disappointed.
Approximate cost: $50.00
Food is nice but a little expensive. There is a sparkling mineral water on every table when you walk in but don't drink it if you think it's for free, because it is not, they charge you for it. Also when using entertainment vouchers they have certain rules around it so make sure you ring and ask before going as they are very strict when trying to use it.
Approximate cost: $70
it was only great value because of a special they were running but the prices are usually pretty $$$ Anyway if you got the $ it's worth spending it there 'cos it stands out as one of the best to me.
Approximate cost: $40-$100 ahead
After hearing all the adverts on the radio a few years ago I thought I would finally give it a try. I was disappointed. The seafood was ordinary and pricey for what you got. Modern Décor and staff were good but rushed. Overall disappointed.
It is very nice set up restaurant, The food was good valued of money especially for lunch special . I went there with my friend we had lunch special it cost us about $40 each. we each has entree , main course a glass of wine and dessert. we are so full the food so nice the services was great.
Approximate cost: $20-80
its pretty average tasting food. the way the food was presented on the plates was alright not much better then some of the pubs ive eaten at.some of the dishes tasted pretty horrible. i also worked for these guys for a bit and im fussy when it comes to food hygine and i wasnt all that sattasfied with the way they handled some of the food in the kitchen. when it comes to paying the staff they try underpaying.
Approximate cost: $40
An absolute gastronomical experience at a quality seafoof restaurant. the food is brilliant, the service follows suit, and it is definite value for money. The restaurant is clean and classy.
Approximate cost: $20.00
