I put my VE Calais in for diagnosis and service as it's a V6 running on 5. Three other workshops have made a diagnosis of electrical fault, possibly the ECU. Lancaster completely ignored all 3 other garages and DID NOT do a diagnosis on the ECU as I requested, instead asking for a further 3 hours labour (and $555) to perform more tests. They now put it all back on me for not granting them the OK to spend more of my money, when they didn't do what I originally asked for. By ignoring 3 previous garage reports, they're basically saying all 3 are incompetent and don't know how to diagnose a faulty ECU.
I have brought & serviced cars with this business for over 6 years. They are always great to deal with.
Thanks for your help guys. S Smith
Purchasing a new car is a big deal, so you expect to be treated fairly. Lancaster were rude from the start. They offered a horrendous price for trade in, they were unhelpful when we were deciding which model to choose and were even more rude when we didnt go through their finance company. The price we managed to get for trade in and the purchase of the new car was quite comparitive and basically the only reason we did decide to go ahead with them. Once the order was submitted we heard no feeback or updates from them. After 6 months of asking and constantly being told 'were not sure when your car will arrive' we were about to cancel our purchase. They rang us the next day and informed us that our car was approx 2wks away from delivery. All up it took 9 months from order to arrival. Their after purchase service is just as bad. Their mechanics charged for work that we hadnt asked for, and at a very high price. We went with them for the first complimentary service and once after then so we can hold onto our new car warranty but never again.
