The best salon ever, I have been going to Koukla since the beginning when Sue open up down the road. In fact Sue has been doing my hair for over 30 years. I occasionally get one of the other fantastic staff members to cut my hair but always come back to Sue. The staff are all beautiful people and always friendly and make me feel at home, alway safe ring me a coffee or a beer on a hot day. Koukla has achieved so much, wining awards for there excellent work and customer service, the Koukla team can be so proud of what they have achieved, not many have achieved the level of professionalism as Sue and her wonderful staff. Keep up the great work guys and thank you for looking after me for so many years. xxx ooo

I will never return to this salon again. I was grossly overcharged for pitiful service and an absolutely disgraceful result. A month on my hair looks as if it hasn't been coloured in months as the colourist targeted my mid lengths rather than my regrowth. I have had to see another hairdresser at another salon to try to rectify the problems caused, and it looks as if it will be a long battle to get my hair back to its original condition. Firstly, I was charged $55 for a full haircut when all the hairdresser did was trim my ends. My layers were not put back in and my fringe was not cut as requested. I consoled myself thinking that at least I'd only be charged for a trim. How wrong I was. I was charged $55 for a full hair cut. I also emerged with a half head of foils and toner that were a completely different colour to what I'd requested and had done in the past, although they insisted it was the same. I am now left with a colour that does not suit my skin tone. To make it worse I was charged $108 for the foils and an extra $75 for 'extra bleach'. My hair is shoulder length. In all the times I have has my hair done at Koukla I have never been charged such an exorbitant and unjustified fee. Moreover, they applied bleach to the hair that was already coloured - not just my regrowth. My hair at the crown has now started snapping off and I am left with 'tufts' of hair at the top of my head. Never in my life have I experienced such a thing. Steer clear of this salon - save your time, your money and your hair and look elsewhere.

I have been to the salon a fair few times and no more! Every single hairdresser I go to seems to leave! 3 have gone this year alone I get the feeling the management staff is not a pleasant person to work for as I agree this person never smiles and is very intimidating. I have also been grossly overcharged for what I have done.I thought that of a hairdresser who never seems to listen. I have also seen the management staff belittle their staff in front of clients. Do yourself a fav and go somewhere where they do a better job for way less $!

I had originally been to another salon where it was very rushed service (in and out pay and go) when I was referred to this salon the service I got was great. They are all friendly and also very professional. You are not just with "your hairdresser" but they all interact with each other and are always asking for refreshments and if I would like anything else. I walked out with a fresh clean blonde and also a great haircut. I never knew so much about my hair untill I came there. The management really knows how to run the studio. Love this place.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!! I had originally visited this salon early 2014 where I had bleached blonde hair, the hair dresser that I got approached me which such confidence that she would be able to colour correct my hair. Once she had begun, she done on scalp bleach and on already frail ends had applied even more bleach which had resulted in my hair breaking off. On this occasion I had gone home and re-coloured to a darker colour as it kept snapping and there was nothing I could do about it, where I had also paid for Koukla's service for this day > $270. She had also taken a BEFORE photo and didn't take an AFTER because of what she had done. On second occasion, following Instagram accounts, I had visited a male at this salon for re-growth application. He approached my hair started taking photos of it without my consent (supposedly BEFORE photos) and in a loud voice told me that nothing can be done apart from going to a darker brown 'root stretch', embarrassing me in front of the whole salon and other clients. I had staff approach me basically laughing away and staring me down the whole time I was sitting there (ESPECIALLY A LADY BY THE NAME OF SUE WHO I BELIEVE IS THE OWNER - NEVER SMILES). When my colouring had begun, he had only coloured my actual hair and not blending with top of my extensions which resulted in me looking like I had a brown round hat on my head. He had not even taking an AFTER photo because they had obviously seen what a bad job they had done. Not once was I offered magazines or coffee/tea/water while I was sitting there (as I noticed they had been offering every other client that had walked in). A junior girl walked over to me to dry my hair and only then was I offered something, she begun drying my hair and following 5 mins of approx 20inch hair, she was told by another hair dresser 'thats enough drying you dont need to continue anymore, your wasting time'. Once I had my hair dried off, I complained of what my hair had looked like and was told it would 'wash out' and not to worry about it, and was charged $150 AND I QUESTION MYSELF WHAT FOR and noticed on receipt a 'shot' of some treatment was added, which I NEVER asked for myself or did they mention to me! In conclusion, I advise everyone NOT to visit this salon as the staff is far too stuck up for my liking and arrogant. I will NEVER return to this salon,

In my opinion, 'staff' was far too cocky for the work they produced. I asked for a clean level 8 balayaged colour and walked out with horrible uneven copper ombre hair complete with a dark fringe...$300 later. I am a hairdresser with 9 yrs experience and I went to this salon as it seemed noteworthy and I wanted a decent 'client' experience. I didn't tell staff I am a hairdresser. I had to put my own toner on my hair the next day just to make it bearable to look at. In my opinion, it's way overpriced and the service was arrogant. Had I been consulted properly, I may have at least had some sort of natural balayage to work with. Staff seemed to assume knew what I wanted, but staff actually had no idea. I also got home to discover 2 spots of bleach on my jacket, really terrible experience all around. Haircut was ok, but I was charged 'senior stylist' prices.

worst hair experience in my life. don't waste your money or time with this salon. they ruined my hair color then tried to charge me $197 to fix it then said they would meet me half way and have a junior fix it for half price, so I originally paid $120 , now wanting me to pay another $100 on top = a total of $220 to fix their mistake. they were rude about it and would not accept responsibility for their mistake nor do their best to fix it, even the management staff was unhelpful . they made out it was my fault not theirs. I have been getting my hair colored for 15 years. I do not trust them to fix it....and will be paying a trusted salon to fix it. I have been left with orange hair.... they are unprofessional and in experienced. I feel sorry for the staff that work at this salon under the direction of the management learning to how to be so unprofessional. TRUST ME, DO NOT GO HERE!!!

This business has been owned and operated by the same person for more than 20 years. The reason for it's longevity is because of the great customer service, friendly atmosphere and lovely staff. As with all salons, staff range in experience so if you want anything tricky done then ask for a senior stylist. Also, staff have their own specialty areas so it would be good to visit their website and ask for a stylist that suits your needs. Bonnie is great at bobs and hair ups, for example. Sometimes I go to another salon if Koukla are busy and cannot meet my preferred time, however I never get better service or attention than I do at Koukla. I can see there has been some negative feedback, invariably these involve the application of peroxide or other harsh chemicals to the hair. The most beautiful hair is healthy hair, no matter what it's colour is. So if you are not looking to strip the life out of your hair, then I would highly recommend this salon. Note, I am not connected with any of the staff or the owner at Koukla, this is an honest and sincere review based on my 50+ visits to this salon.

I highly recommend a visit to Tomy at this salon. He takes the time to consult on cut and colour and does not rush the service. I have found other salons just want to keep giving the same hair cut and colour over and over. Tomy makes good recommendations and my hair has never looked so good. All staff in the store are friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. I am really happy with the service and look forward to many more visits. C Calvert
