I am glad i went with kids company in sandringham, My daughter loves the environment & has made some lovely connections with fellow children & staff, Shes a sensative being so the high level of investment in her developing practical skills has realy impressed me.

Wow I'm shocked from the other reviews. My 3 year old started at kids co about a year ago and I have to say how delighted I am I chose them, everyday he comes home talking about he's friends and what he has learnt. The cook is there in the mornings along with lots of other staff and the cook has qualifications in childcare. My son has an allergy and asthma and the cook always ensures he's fed the right foods and asks me input into the menu. I cant thank you all enough and especially the director who helped me not just at the start but everyday.

We were at the Beaumaris Kids Company and like others, I should have listened to my instincts. Huge staff turnover, neglect of my 7 month old (was bitten on the face) and never the same staff member to hand our baby too. The manager is the same one who was at Sandringham and she was never there. Not for the orientation she booked me in for and rarely at any other time. Half the time I was handing my bub over to the cook. There is a reason they aren't full like the other centres in the area.

I struggled putting my beloved daughter into daycare at a year old, but unfortunately I had to return to work. I was hoping that a good daycare centre would ease my mind and allow my daughter to develop and grow. From the very start I knew I wouldn't get this from kids company.
The quality of staff, there lack of ability to communicate and general consistency of care was a huge concern. My daughter was fed food that she had allergies to on several occasions, this was terrifying for me. There were many incidents which I raised with staff, but then it would seem another would crop up. Needless to say, I took her out of the centre and what a difference! I took her to another centre close by and found that they listened, responded and fedback. I no longer feel that sinking feeling when I drop her off in the morning.

General advice for anyone putting their child into daycare for the first time. Trust your instincts.

Putting a toddler into childcare is a tough decision to make. The venue has to have the right sense of caring for the child and you want to trust the people providing that service.
When we first started going to Kids Company, the staff knew us and gave our son comfort when we left for work. Soon after, we noticed a regular turnover of staff and aside from 2-3 mainstays, we never saw a staff person last more than six months. This is really tough because the child gets to trust a person and then has to readjust to a new one.
This high turnover certainly affected the quality of care. I recall two incidents in the last month when I picked up my son and found he was soiled - once with a truckload of sand included.
When we decided to leave, I was expecting the director to come and see me, asking why we chose to go elsewhere. We didn't hear from her - which isn't that surprising given that through the year we were there, I think we probably saw her in her office only a handful of times.
This is not to say that there aren't any good staff members at Kids Company. It's just that they are too few and the high turnover of staff and the deterioration in the level of care may suggest other things are affecting the Sandringham centre's operations.
