When was your business founded?
Established in 2022, for over two years, The Piano Tutor offered high-quality piano lessons to students of all ages. Founded by Franrick, the business earned a reputation for personalised teaching and consistent student success. As demand grew, so did the vision. In November 2024, we rebranded to KeyStrings Music Academy to reflect our growth into multiple instruments, expanded locations, and formal AMEB exam preparation. This rebrand marks more than just a new name its a shift toward a structured, full-scale music academy. Parents began asking for more than just piano, and KeyStrings now proudly offers tailored music education in piano, violin, and more, with trusted teachers, consistent quality, and a commitment to every students musical journey.
What is your level of experience in this line of work?
Franrick has been playing the piano for over 15 years, bringing years of experience gained through AMEB exams and performing in church bands. At KeyStrings Music Academy, he leads a team of qualified teachers located in Ingle Farm, Oakden, and Prospect. With a focus on nurturing creativity and growth, the academy is dedicated to providing personalised, high-quality music education to inspire every student.
What certifications, qualifications or awards has your business received?
KeyStrings Music Academy is led by experienced music educators with formal qualifications in piano and violin. Many of our students have successfully completed AMEB exams with high distinctions. While we are a growing independent academy, we prioritise structured, high-quality tuition that meets exam standards and student goals.
What is your fee structure like? Fixed fees? Hourly rates?
We offer fixed weekly lesson rates for simplicity and transparency. Lessons are billed monthly in advance and priced to reflect both affordability and teaching quality. Teachers are paid above standard to ensure consistency and care.
What are your current prices (fixed and variable)?
Our standard weekly lesson rate is $38.08 for a 30-minute lesson, billed monthly. Students who join mid-month pay a pro-rata amount. We also offer an optional trial lesson at $15.24, which is up to 60% off our normal rate.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
Seeing students grow in confidence and skill whether its playing their first song, performing in a recital, or passing an exam. We love creating a positive learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and proud of their progress.
What are your payment terms and conditions? Do you offer payment plans? Afterpay? Interest-free terms?
Fees are billed monthly at a fixed rate. We do not currently offer Afterpay or third-party payment plans, but the monthly billing system provides families with predictable, manageable payments. Trial lessons are paid individually before the student commits to regular lessons.

Do you have a favourite client story you'd like to share?
One of our long-time students started with us as a shy 6-year-old beginner. With consistent lessons and support, she not only passed her AMEB exams with honours but also performed confidently at our annual recital something her parents never thought possible!
