We chose Jim’s Flooring Sydney because we’ve used other Jim’s services before and always trusted the brand. The promise of quality and the advertised guarantee gave us confidence. Unfortunately, this experience was very different.
From the start, the job was poorly managed. The team arrived without materials on the first day, were late on multiple occasions, and dragged the work out over extra days, including weekends, which caused problems with our strata. They even spilled liquid on the hallway carpet, leaving us to pay for steam cleaning, and left behind rubbish and dust that we had to deal with ourselves.
The workmanship itself was just as disappointing. The floor levelling wasn’t done properly, leaving parts of the bedroom uneven and “moving” underfoot. The skirting was cut from short, mismatched pieces with obvious joins and a rough finish, which our painter had to spend extra time fixing. Even weeks after moving in, we are still finding glue stains, rough patches, and signs that corners were cut.
While they eventually agreed to adjust the final invoice back to the original price and remove the levelling charge, that doesn’t change the fact that the quality of the work was well below what was promised. It’s also too late to go back and redo it without major disruption.
Maybe other Jim’s Flooring franchises do a better job, but based on our experience with Sydney, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.
