the sweet and sour chicken here was very tasty but i was not much of a fan of the spring rolls they were a bit oily for my liking,i thought the prices were very reasonable as well
we had take away from here while on holidays,the service was fantastic we did not have to wait long at all for our food to be ready,i had the lemon chicken and really enjoyed it
Came here with Hubby, we ordered drinks first, water and coke, water was straight from the tap and the can of coke was warm, should have taken this as a sign and up and left at that moment, we ordered the duck in lemon sauce, and and battered pork ribs, de-boned. Took about ten minutes for them to bring out the duck, said my pork ribs would be right behind it, duck was luke warm, and hubby refusing to dig in until my food came out (so we nibbled on the duck while waiting) took another 5 minutes for my order to come out, and it was the wrong order... Waiter apologized and took it back saying he'd get my order right away, 10 minutes later he bought my order out again, dug in, and first piece was chicken, yup, they gave me the wrong order again. This one was some kind of pork and chicken bits with honey soy and sesame seeds all over it, we picked at it and the cold duck (which tasted disgusting by this point because it was so cold) until we gave up and went to pay the bill, waitress asked me if we enjoyed our meals, I said no, explained what had happened with our meals, she gave us a refund on my meal ($27) so we were left $32 lighter, absolutely no appetite, and two stale fortune cookies, we also both woke up in the night with tummy aches so definitely will not be going back again.
The Jade provides excellent value and brilliant service. It is a particularly good venue for family functions, always best to book on the weekends and holiday time. The stairs might be a problem for older people. Highly recommend the duck. The Jade also provides take away. Pleasant views and atmosphere. More spacious than some Chinese places.
Jade restaurant encompasses your typical Australian-Chinese restaurant take. The banquets are the way to go as per usual, for a great selection of western chinese food. pick the right spot for a good view of the beach and ocean otherwise there is the carpark across the road.
value is good with drinks reasonably priced, desserts are satisfactory if unadventurous.
