i honestly don't know what to say about this place as there is so much great things to say but the portion sizes are ridiculously small. The cheese puffs are too die for. The atmosphere, service are both amazing but where's the food?
I have been to many degustation meals before and have always finished full not this time. I had a cider after and then went home and had some toast.

What a magnificent lunch we enjoyed here! The service is outstanding, never intrusive, always pleasant. The meals are served in degustation style so don't expect large servings. Happily, the waiters will explain this to you so there are no unpleasant surprises.

The bread is fresh out of the oven and abundant, served with house butter.

We enjoyed the 4-course menu and tried some lovely dishes. Our favourite was the ocean trout which we'd highly recommend.

The atmosphere is upmarket but not intimidating and the decor is comfortable and welcoming. The view out to the courtyard is lovely with hydrangeas in full bloom.

I found the wine list a bit disappointing. With only 4 red wines on offer (and only two of those Australian), I felt it lacked imagination and pride in local wines. The latter is I'm sure, not the case, but I would have liked more choice.

The desserts were delicious, particularly the mocha ice cream.

Coffee was excellent too.

Lunching at Jacques Reymond is an experience to be savoured. We spent three hours there, relaxing and taking our time.

We'd definitely go back the next time we're in town and have something to celebrate.

Jacques Reymond is located in a beatiful Victorian mansion alongside many residential houses. You might miss it if you don't pay enough attention. It has a very classy feel to it. A great place to take your date if you want to impress her. The food is a fusion between French and Asian cuisine. I really enjoyed the food there but it's not something that screams WOW and they were not the most delicious food I've ever tried in my life. I guess it's more of the whole experience itself that makes this restaurant top of its class. All the food I've tried were good, the service is beyond excellent (they seemed to know when they were needed and when to disappear), the presentation is superb and the atmosphere is quiet (hint: romantic). If you have money to splurge, it's a place you might want to try to visit. Caution for big eaters: small serving each dish.

Top restaurant.
I heard it is hard to get a booking at this place but my partner and I, we were so lucky that someone cancel the appointment on the day and I just walked in and got the place (with no booking :) ). service was WOW... they are so polite and always clean your table or fold your napkin when you leave the table (eg: go to the rest room). At the end of the degustation menu, the head chef will come to your desk to say hi.

The ambiance was so romantic, with fire place, in an old style house in Prahran. It was a wonderfull experience.

The food was absolutely fantastic. They use different combination, weird combination but yet taste good.

Will definitely go back there. Only this time, I will make sure I book for it :)

Excellent service only slightly brought down by the fact that we were offered "more bread" far too much, up to twice each time we were between courses.
Quality of the food was impeccable, tasty, interesting, inventive and filling.
We had the degustation menu for $175.00 each and was certainly very impressive as a dining experience. I would certainly recommend for a special occasion.

Wow! What an experience!
The food is absolutely divine and so beautifully presented. Being pregnant, I could not take advantage of the wine with the degustation menu but I did have a mini-sip of my partner's wines with each course and they (as expected) completely complemented each dish.
I have Fructose Malabsorption and so the staff did their research on allowed/not allowed foods and tweaked the dishes accordingly, and were sure to talk me through the courses before we started to make sure they had not missed anything.
Every single staff member was attentive and they all seemed genuine with their attentions (clearly all very good at what they do!)
Everyone should splash out once in a while and have this experience. You are not just paying for the beautiful food, you are paying for the wonderful service and the beautiful ambience.
Highly recommended! (Oh, and it was lovely that Jacques Reymond himself came out to meet us at the end of the night.)

It was a fantastic dining experience at Jacques Reymond! I was pregnant when i was there and therefore careful with what I ate. The staff were very attentive and thoughtful by suggesting how they would modify the menu slightly for me. I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness and the beautiful dishes that were served. I have to say this is my best dining experiences ever.

We went for our wedding anniversary. While this restaurant is expensive, it is a FANTASTIC special night out. Features one of the best chefs around so you know you will get amazing food. The service is the same with the staff professional and attentive. The restaurant is an old victorian mansion and has three seperat dining rooms, so its very different to the run of the mill places we usualy go. Top night out, well worth the money.

Exquisite fine dining experience - I do not think you will find a better restaurant in the whole of Australia. From the food, to the wine, staff and setting everything is perfect. It may seem like a high price tag for some but if you truly adore food you will make the time and funds to dine here for it is an experience you must have. It is like eating art! The whole evening (especially if you are wise and choose the degustation menu) is an experience - wining and dining for around 4-5 hours. Sumptuous. Staff are truly incredible. Food is to die for and I would love to personally thank Jacques Reymond himself for such an amazing menu! Highly recommended.

I have eaten at Jacques Reymond twice for celebratory dinners and each time they haven't failed to impress. It was high class French food; the degustation menu I had included about 7 courses of entree sized meals. The food was amazing, and I think this place justifiably deserves its reputation. It's a great place to go if you want to splash out on a fine dining experience - you won't be disappointed.
