Iron Locksmiths

We had an appalling experience with Iron Locksmiths in Canberra. After they installed a new door lock on our front door, it became loose within a few weeks to the point the lock was almost falling out of the door. When we rang to request a repair and follow-up service, the [redacted due to personal identifier] was very aggressive and said they only have one staff member in Canberra and that he was on extended leave. The manager could not provide any timeframe for when the one staff member might return and, when we asked, it became clear they have no contingency in these situations to use another company based in Canberra to service priority customer requirements. We have ended up having to arrange for another company to reinstall the lock properly and are reporting Iron Locksmiths to the ACT Office of Fair Trading.
Their website advertises that they provide a “24/7/365” service however that is certainly not the case in Canberra. A terrible experience with a business we found to be very unprofessional.
