Very disappointing experience

Bought a couple of thousand dollars worth of dining table and chairs, stools, etc. and ordered delivery. Three separate staff members told me in the store that the stuff will be delivered to my apartment on level 4. On Sunday, the truck showed up and left the stuff downstairs and as soon as I went around the corner to let the other lot of delivery in, they dumped the stuff and left. I called the driver and he said they're "not allowed to deliver to level 4". I called IKEA and after being held on the line for an hour and 15 minutes, the only thing they could do was to refund the $79 delivery fee, which is pathetic. It was a Sunday afternoon so it was impossible to arrange a removalist to help me with it, so I was left with about 8-10 flatpacks some 30-40kg each. My friend drove from the North Shore to Glebe to help me get the stuff up. I could have arranged something beforehand if they hadn't lied to me about the delivery. They treated it like it's none of their business.

Delivery service was up to our expectations. Arrived within the time slot, carried all the heavy boxes up to my apartment. The shopping experience itself is always great, especially paying the visit in their canteen.

I have always had lovely experiences at Ikea Tempe. The shop is new and is very roomy. The cafe area is huge and great to take kids as they have play space, the food is pretty good considering the price.
The furniture is always kept is great condition

One of the best Ikeas I have been too as the staff seems genuinely happy to help you and say hello! Adore their kitchen range the most but also great for the odd bits and bobs at great prices

It is an okay for all the qualities above.
What I cannot still figure out- if you go just to have a snack upstairs and then want to get out from the store you would have to make your way through the maze in order to be able to exit the store.
Escalators only go up, there is no lift access that would take you to the lobby.
I think it is stupid to force everybody to go through the store.

I went to Ikea last Sunday . Not to bad an experience concidering I was with my husband who hates Ikea.
We had lunch there and decided on the meatballs they tasted ok. Love the pastries!
I am not sure that Ikea is the best value for your money when buying items. I found that a lot of items out of stock which was frustrating and limited to certian colours .
I did check on line to see if some items where available and it said more than likey in stock. Not really the answer your looking for.

Tempe Ikea is new but the service is not that great, unlike the other IKEA's the one at Tempe has employees that don't really like helping you out. The food at Tempe IKEA is not as good as the one at Roselands. The worst thing? No hot chocolate!

um, there is no Ikea @ Roselands. The only other Ikea is at Rhodes.

There is hot chocolate and you can even get it for free by joining to IKEA family service and then present your card to the counter and ask for hot chocolate.

I was really happy when the new Ikea was open in Tempe as it was just a short drive for me.
And this Ikeas was even better than the one in Rhodes. The parking are is big and open and there is a place for kids to play while mum shops.
I feel like the kid when I go through their various rooms with beautiful furniture and Manchester. And my favourite section is the kitchen and utensils are.
Since they have open in Tempe, I have gone here many time and bought a rug, lamp, curtains, cushions and many items for kitchen.
I am loving great shopping in cheaper price .

Ikea do what they do very well - great furniture at great prices. At Tempe they do it very well, the store has a great layout and there is heaps of parking - not like a Rhodes or Moore park before.

On a few products you can see where they have skimped, but managed to pick up a bright folding chair and a pair of magazine holders. Disappointing that one products i wanted was sold out, such shows just how good their prices are. They had a great promotion on fish & chips for $3. Also had a bit of a soggy sandwich which they happily refunded. Overall a fun experience with the bonus of great value food at the end if you don't end up buying anything.

Ikea is ok, nothing exciting but it does inspire your imagination & sets you on a trail of discovery & eventually finding, buying & building whatever it was you went there for.
I have 2 gripes though...
Gripe 1 - the returns non-service is appalling! 1.5hrs to return some baking tins/patty cases on a Fri morning is a damn joke.
Gripe 2 - the food. It is absolutely awful, mass produced, all nutrients have been microwaved to hell & it's expensive for what it is. Never thought I'd hear myself say Maccas is better... lol.
Also, I have found just about any piece of furniture breaks with little effort - especially the drawers!
Kitchen gadgets are good, as is the wooden children's toys.

IKEA stores are pretty much the same wherever you go. Modern and quality furniture available at affordable prices. The queue may get long on some days and hours. Putting the furniture aside, there's also a great restaurant part of store which is also very good value.

Ikea appears to be the same from store to store. Sadly where this one disappoints is when you have to return something, that was damaged through no fault of your own (box looked okay but the inside wardrobe panels were completely damaged). They were happy to exchange without issue but the length of time taken to 1. initially get served and 2. for someone to go and get the replacement from the shelf (something we could have done in less than half the time it took them) made what seemed like a good shopping experience very very painful.

I am of the same voice. Time in a lunch hour for returns runs at over an hour for something very simple and I am not inspired by the finished product either. Good one for venting such

Affordable furniture for students, families, singles, married! one day shopping experience - if you are thinking that you will be out of the store within 20 minutes, you are making the huge mistakes. Kitchenware, bedding, any furniture, are all present there making you to buy more.
IKEA is known for the quality and wide variety. The prices are average and much more affordable than many other brands.
The shop also has a food section that offers Swedish food - highly recommended to try.
