One of my favourite cafes, first went there for Brunch with my friends after seeing it on Instagram a couple of times and was not disappointed! Love the presentation and the atmosphere of the cafe, would recommend!

Best place for Brunch. I have tried so many places but still think this place is the best. The only downside is there is always a line for table. Always have to wait at least 45 minutes. I have so many favorites here - Crab Benedict, Baked Eggs, Salmon, chili scrambled eggs and so on

Amazing place to go for brunch, the baked eggs were delicious and very filling despite looking like a small serving. The price is also fairly standard for brunch food. Be prepared for a long wait as the restaurant is small and has limited seating. I went with a group and luckily we were placed at the biggest table but i would not recommend going with a group.

A very cute cafe that seemed popular on social media and also recommended by many friends who have visited Melbourne.

With such positive reviews and high expectations, I was still very impressed.

Baked Eggs were delicious. Scrambled Eggs looked amazing too.

I had a cold drip coffee and was really impressed with the presentation and taste.

Hardware Societe was one of the most recommended places to eat breakfast in Melbourne. I liked the place and the food, but the fact that you can't make any alterations such as getting one thing removed off a menu item seemed silly.

I have previously been sceptical about hardware societe after a few occasions of waiting 40+ minutes for a rushed brunch, from a menu that was most unaccommodating for people who who do not eat menu or have particular food requirements. Most recently I went again, and was pleasantly surprised. the long queues have died down somewhat and the menu is certainly much much more accommodating

What a great cafe. I decided to visit as it was recommended as a great place for a hot chocolate. What I didn't realise is that it is a very popular serving French / Spanish brunch food. We had a 15 minute wait for a table which I thought was long until I heard some people wait for over an hour for a table.

Had a hot chocolate which was served with a little cream and dollop of chocolate paste in the cup with a separate jug with the actual hot chocolate. Also had the brioche with dulce de leche, quince and hazelnuts.

Would recommend but be prepared for a wait

Came here for brunch on Queens birthday with friends. Had to wait about 15mins for a table. I don't like eating French type bread as I always thought its too hard and chewy, so I ordered the croque Madame as it was the only one without it. I m so glad I ordered it as it was mouth watering delicious!!!!!!! It has 2 slices of homemade toast with ham hock sandwich between, fried egg on top with a potato salad. Every element was cooked to perfection. Hot chocolate was surprisingly yummy too, they give u a jug to pour over what appeared to be cream and sugar coated nuts. A little pricy though with most of the brunch priced around $20, but for the food served it is worth it. Just remember to bring cash as it is CASH ONLY.

Amazing food that is French and Spanish inspired. The Macaroons and cakes are to die for, and the iced coffee here will really blow your mind - its that good!
Service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are good considering the quality of the meal and drink.

Every time we get into CBD for breakfast, Hardware Society is our top ten choice. Fantastic ambience, friendly service, and great food. The fun thing about going to this place is that you can sit down watching all CBD white and blue collars rushing in for their coffee. It's such a pumping environment that I rarely see in suburban. My favorite dish is "Fried egg" which consists of prosciutto, water cress, Parmesan cheese, and two fried eggs served on olive bread. Baked egg is equally good. The only downside of this place is that the food price is a little bit expensive but that could only be The CBD standard IMO. Like I said, this is not the place for 'everyday meal' but the best if you'd like to have a great breakfast once you go to the city.

Not a lot of options for vegetarians (particularly vegans or those with diary allergies) and the kitchen is unwilling re menu adjustments to accommodate allergies.
The food itself creative, and food quality is reasonable, but you do pay for it.

I really loved the daily special they had on! I tried the red pepper bell one. A small cosy cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and alot to offer. Everything looked really delicious. The staff were friendly and warm and described dishes to us when we were not familiar with them.
Definitely a great place for a good chat over some good food

Quirky little cafe that does Breakfast and lunch! Look out for specials like paella, steak and other reasonably priced dishes. Supreme coffee is excellent or try the baked eggs, macarons or chocolate pudding. Owned by a husband and wife team that previously ran beetroot. They offer a lovely cafe with lovely service.
