Had lunch and a few beers with some work colleagues before christmas, cannot say I was overly impressed, slow service and average food, staff were pleasant, just a disappointing experience for all.

a great venue, with great live bands, a good setup also easy to get to when you have been at the entertainment centre whether you pop in for a drink before a show or after, found the prices of alcohol fair and service good, good place to meet up with people and not far from the city, any good bands are booked out rather quickly here making it a very popular place to be

The Govenor Hindmarsh is such a unique venue. The sound is great, the space is well set out and the atmosphere is fantastic! The best thing is the outdoor area - you can watch the band and then sneak outside for some relaxed drinks.

I've been going to the Gov for years and years. If they didn't exist, the music scene in Adelaide would be a much worse place, and there would be few venues to middling-size national and international bands to go.

Please visit the Gov. See a band or relax in the lovely, unpretentious front bar.

A great atmosphere where ever you go, be it the bar, dinning area or beer garden. It's a great place for a cosy meal in winter in front of the open fireplace.
We enjoyed our meals, which were well presented. The staff always seemed busy but were all quite helpful.

A great place to go to see a band. Really good atmosphere, great beer garden and the drinks are reasonable. A bit far for me to travel but if I was in the area I'd be there often. The food is quite good too.

Definitely the best music venue in Adelaide. We watched Something for Kate smash out another amazing set at the Gov and enjoyed a few drinks outside before the show. I've had dinner here before also and it was extremely good value for what we paid.

Close to if not the best live music venue in Adelaide. Nice big open space, 2 bars, large beer garden, ok restaurant, front bar, always something happening, average drinks prices

One of the few places left in Adelaide to have great live gigs. Good food, good service - the pub has a great feel about it. Saw fringe acts here not long ago - the back room is looking a bit tired but still a good night as usual.

Great live venue, and awesome pub food, pizza's are great, but service can be a bit slow duiring the week

a long time supporter of live music in Adelaide where you can see top quality Australian & overseas artists perform in a great sounding room. There's also good food, & a couple of different bars at least. Don't forget to look for the little bar at the end with the antique nude photo collection.

probably the best live music venue in adelaide a diverse range of tastes brings in many diffrent types of people creating a vibrant atmosphere the food is pretty good too but nothing beats the log fire in winter

Best live music venue I reckon with some great acts available at all times, they have a really nice bar which is casual and relaxing it is a top place to visit for a quick drink but better for a show - the only downfall I believe is that the service can be a bit lacking, am in the industry and found them to be a bit off on many occasions - if their service was as good as their acts then they would not have a venue big enough to hold all the patrons knocking down the door to get in!

There can be good and not that great music here... especially on open mic nights. But there is live music and quite a few well known bands have found their beginning here.
