I've been to the Golden Monkey twice now and was impressed on both occasions. First time I went for a birthday and it was quite busy but service was quick. The cocktails are delicious and there's quite a selection to choose from. They're around the $17 mark which is standard really. They also have delicious tapas dishes. I love the interior it is beautiful! They also have cucumber water at the bar which is very refreshing!
You get an exotic asian vibe with this lounge style restaurant/bar. Really loved the decorations and music. All in all they have really done a great job with creating a nice setting. We enjoyed the private seating area and delicious- but slightly pricey tapas. Nice variety of cocktails on the menu at decent prices. Good place to stop by after dinner.
Was there yesterday night with a few friends. Really nicely decorated with oriental furnishings. Waitresses were really nice and attentive. Loads of cocktails to choose from, very unique and nicely done. My friend wasn't sure what to get for me and just told the bartender to do something with watermelon inside. So she just mixed it up and OMG, it was awesome. Of course, it wasn't in the menu.
They serve food there as well and though it is slightly more expensive than outside, it is good. Food were all served hot.
Overall, a very good place to chill with friends as there are quite alot of comfy seats and couches all around. It can get crowded and noisy as the night goes but not to the point where you are squeezing to trying to get past each other. Toilets are clean and big as well. Definitely will be going back again!

From Lonsdale St, 3rd place on your left in Hardware Lane (next to Sakura sushi) Access via stairs from small shop front at street level. Great vibe with lots of private seating areas for groups. Nice bathrooms and quick efficient service. The music was loud but not too loud that you couldn't have a conversation. Asahi beers and House Sauvignon Blanc are $10. A huge range of cocktails starting from $17.
One of best places to go and have a few drinks with friends. Services is good and the drink prices are great! The bathroom is quite spacious (unlike other bars) which is always a plus! The tapas are really delicious as well, though I think it's kind of pricey - I had 2 springrolls for $6. But if you're just having a few drinks, this is definitely the place!

I love the Golden Monkey, they have the best tapas. You must try the Shanghai Fries and the Roti especially. They have a few cocktails I like but nothing I can really remember were great enough to suggest.
love the decor in this place. the service may be a little snobbish and stiff, but the drinks are amazing and the asian tapas are like little fireworks in the mouth.
