The prices at this location are absolutely insane, and you'd be better off buying your own equipment. At least the staff are nice.

I went here when my children were little, because they had a big creche and a part-timers membership for mums. The classes were great, loved it.
The equipment is so well maintained, the classes are fantastic but it is so damn expensive!!!! The prices are not locked in either, they just keep increasing. I do not go to this gym anymore but I was paying $40 a fortnight!!!! If it wasn't for the ridiculous pricing, I would have stayed.
What I did find disappointing was there was no complimentary training programs. In this regard, the gym is a cold, large company who has lost touch with the customer. There is no one to show you how to use the weight equipment and offer you a program. I assume you have to pay for personal training if you want this.

This place has a great feeling too it. I go in the mornings and its a lot less crowded than in the afternoons. The best thing is I never have to wait to use the equipment. The classes are outstanding, and the trainers are really motivating. The facilities is one of the best I've seen. The whole place is very roomy. The staff there overall seem so friendly. The only thing is that it is quite pricey compared to other gyms. But I guess the facilities are worth it, if you can afford it.

Fitness First really is a supermarket gym. It's a bit like Telstra are managing your membership, I rang to book in a PT session only to be put on hold for ten minutes then told that the person I need to speak to is not there. That being said, there are great facilities, heaps of equipment and classes and the locker rooms are fantastic. You do really feel like a number and not a name, fine at the deli but not at the gym if you ask me. They will let you pay a month up front if you ask, as opposed to direct debit, so maybe try this first.

I've had a part-time membership here for a few months now, which is great as it is actually affordable. The service is pretty average at this gym but there are one or two highlights. The facilities are great and the creche is fantastic.
the gym is fun this gym has a lot of chains. so you can go to any of them once you have joined. it also offers it overseas, but i think the cost of it is a bit too much.

The facilities are great. The staff aren't much help- they tend to hang around talking in groups. Everyothing costs more though. Worth it if you know what you are doing but you might prefer a smaller gym with personal attention if you are a beginner.
My membership here only lasted a year - it was an expensive year! The facilities were good, though I have little else to compare them to. Just the cost in general is really off-putting and it was a pain to cancel my membership as well, but I got there in the end. I remember watching some of the personal trainers one-on-one and feeling that they looked incredibly disinterested and unmotivating - glad I didn't sign on for that. Bad value for money in my case because I didn't go much but the overall experience from the times I did attend was nothing special for what you pay. Parking was also average!
My experience with Fitness First is that it's more of a supermarket for gym-goers rather than a focused fitness experience. With the advertising on the TV's and all around you, you can't help feeling like you're a product rather than a 'guest'. The facilities are great with mostly new equipment but the trainers and the prices don't make you want to keep coming back.
