If I could give this company 1 star, I would.

Over eight weeks later and I am still awaiting my return! All my enquiries are met with the same automated response " we've escalated it with the ATO, it should be resolved in 12 business days".

I've been told that a few times since my initial enquiry!

I paid an excess of $90 for what? Next year I will ask the next door neighbours toddler to do my taxes!

As I study full time and also work part-time, I found eTax quick, easy, and accurate to use once I had all relevant documents. Many documents (including Medicare, and my Centrelink summary) were automatically available through the eTax program, and I filled in the missing details; It was easy to go through and fill out the relevant pages; and it gives an accurate estimate of your tax return.

The program is free, a huge bonus, meaning you are not paying an accountant to help with your tax return - the FAQ pages and easy to follow, step-by-step instructions do most of the hard work for you.

Overall, I enjoyed the convenience of this program, and I would definitely use it again.

As I only work partime, and not pay to much tax, I find it easier using E-Tax as it is free. Its easy to navigate, but can be time consuming with all the questions that you need to go through, when none of it applies to you. Just constantly clicking the Next button. Other then that, I have not had a problem with it, and my return was back to me within 10 days of lodging it online.

I decided to try E-Tax after reading the reviews. A couple of times I had to double check just to make sure I'd covered everything. It was easy enough to navigate. And it tells you at the end how much you will get back.

Downloading and using e-tax to do your personal tax return is so easy. I have done this every year. Have also recommended and helped friends through it and they now also use it.. It explains everything as you go and you can go back if you need to

It's so easy to do your own tax now with E-Tax. Just keep all of your receipts and it's all there. Be prepared to do a bit of backpeddaling as you go through and find that you've put something in the wrong place but they're very forgiving...and it's free!

Have always done my own tax using the tax pack, but tried e-tax last year and found this to be much easier and less cumbesome. My return is not all that simple but still find this service preferable to paying out big money to an accountant.Quick and simple.

E tax is very easy to use. I put off using it for years, but I bit the bullet a couple of years ago and have been using it ever since

I have used ETax a number of times, it was fine to use, however I switched back to an account because I found that I was not able to easily obtain all of the tax return I was entitled to from E-Tax. The framework of the system is a little clunky but overall not too bad. Would recommend this for people who don't claim on much or have a bit of an idea of what they are required to report and claim.

Thank you so much for this review, I had contemplated using them but was concerned that may not be knowledgable enough to work out exactly what I should be eligible for... and thought that maybe sticking to an accountant might be best, although it costs more. If I had a simple tax return, then E -Tax sounds like a good way to go, failing that I have to stick to my accountant.

I have used E-TAX for the last 5 years and have been very happy. They even save your details and the following year that's one less thing you have to do. And the best thing it's free! If you have any problems or question it has loads of info on the site and if your really not sure you can call them.

Great service, so much easier than those paper forms, or paying ridiculous prices for someone else to fill our paper forms! Give it a try and realise how easy tax is!

This is my first time using WoMow. I discovered the site when searching for reviews on tax accountants.

My thanks to those who have taken the time to write these reviews, they have led me down some very interesting new pathways in my search for a good tax return service.

I would agree that if our tax situation is not complicated, and we are able to accurately determine all permissible deductions, then the free ATO software would be the way to go. However, I’m not so sure that by using the E-tax program we will discover tax returns can be easy.

The complexity of tax laws is probably only equalled by the complexity of understanding the opposite sex: both containing exceedingly dangerous pitfalls.

My concern with going it alone is that many of us, particularly those with complicated tax situations, might miss some possible deductions, and end up paying too much tax. Even worse we might make an error that comes back to bite us in the future.

Sometimes our well intentioned efforts to save money may actually end up costing us far more than we might have saved. That's why I'm currently leaning in the direction of trying a supported tax return service such as Etax or Online Tax Australia.

A basic fee of around $70 seems a small price to pay for advice and guidance while completing my tax return – excellent to be able to ask questions, far better for me than Help Guides and Pop-ups - and also having my tax return checked by a qualified accountant before its submitted.

If I do try one of the paid online services, I will of course make sure I return and write a review.

Filling out your tax return usually is a burden at the best of times. By the time you unwrap the Tax Pack decipher all the rigmarole and then do another copy for yourself, four hours of more has elapsed. Down load the E-tax from the ATO site and follow the prompts. I have been using E-tax for the last six years and find it a piece of cake. E-tax takes you through the whole process from personal details to a refund (hopefully), logging online and printing out a copy for your records. If you are unsure of an entry or what you can claim, click on the blue link and read it through. No more letters or phone calls to the tax department, all you need is at the click of a button. The first time you use E-tax may take a little longer whilst setting up your details but ensuing years use the roll over feature and all you personal details are inserted. If your situation is straight forward, no shares no business no complicated issues, it should take you no longer than a couple of hours. The best thing since sliced bread.

The good All you information at the click of a button.
The Bad Two hours of your time.
