I love dumplings, but I just 'like' dumpling King. They are so cheap that you feel hungry an hour or so after eating them. Nevertheless, their wonton soup is tasty, and their thread buns are great. Good for a cheap meal, but just not very wholesome or filling!
Great tasting value for money dumplings. I have tried a few other things on the menu which have been good too.
I like all the pictures they have up above the tables, so you can look at all the good food that you might order. But the problem is they never change so once you've tried all the ones you want, you don't really consider this place because it'll be the same things over and over.
Still, the name tells only half the tale. They have a good range of steamed and fried dumplings, but they also do the whole shebang of other Chinese dishes. It's a goodly amount you get for the price you pay, so they mean well. And they taste ok too.
Approximate cost: $avg
They do offer some reasonable dumplings, but the value isn't so good that I would come back here too much.
There is a nice variety between steamed and fried, so it does cater for a variety of tastes.
Service is lacking, the people are usually students or the like that just want to make a few dollars.
Serving sizes weren't as big as I remember back a while ago. Maybe they're not making enough money?
Still, it's nice enough. Can say good things about it to other people.

I used to go there a lot but after I have noticed that their dumplings are getting smaller and smaller, other food quantity is getting smaller too, I stopped going their. Don't think it's worth the money anymore
Customer service very poor. Called up to enquire about trading hours once, staff didn't understand what I asked and I had to repeat my question 5 times before she rudely replied that they were closed and hung up on me. Other times I've been there the staff are rude - I asked for hot tea and was given a pot of cold and very diluted tea that tasted like tap water. The dumplings taste good however and are quite cheap which makes up for the bad service. They over charge customers for the sauce though , and the take away containers cost $1 each which is a bit unreasonable. Come here if u don't mind being served with poor customer service
Approximate cost: $10
Reasonable price, big servings, those are the reason why I love to go there for dinner especially after friday night marketing at central market. I love try steam dumpling especially the pork ones. However, it tastes abit bland without the chilli. I would recommend you to eat those dumplings with the chilli even though you are not a fan of spicy food. By the way, the chilli is not really spicy but it is full of flavor and fragrance =)
Why would you go anywhere else for steamed dumplings. We often take our toddler here on a Friday night for a cheap meal out. She can make a mess and no one seems to really mind. Its always busy, and sometimes we have waited for a table. The chilli sauce is a must too.
Approximate cost: $10
The best dumplings ever! and the chilli sauce is AMAZING!! the shrimpy chilli flavour combined with steam pork dumplings is just so delicious I could eat these every day!
Approximate cost: $22
A place for homemade dumplings . Service is fast but the food wasn't great .Staff was unwell trained. Ordered a chicken noodle dish but can't really see any chicken in it . Dumplings there was good though.
Approximate cost: $8
My opinion of the Dumpling King leans slightly to the negative side.. base on my experience. The food was mediocre, it's definitely authentic Chinese food but I've had better. Their fried dumplings were too dry but awesome value! I went prepared and wasn't expecting to be blown away. Service was also satisfactory, what you'd expect to get at a busy place! Overall, it's a place that's good for cheap affordable food that does taste reasonably nice!
Don't expect 5 star but expect good value tasty food and lots of it! The tables may be a bit sticky and the service not great but those massive plates of tasty dumplings are an absolute winner in my books. Fried pork or steamed chicken and prwan for me, oh and make sure you have chili and soy sauce with that!
Approximate cost: $12
The dumplings are delicious. My favourites are the steamed peking pork dumplings or the fried seafood and chicken dumplings. Last time they stuffed up my order but I suppose they get very busy in the kitchen as the place is always full.
WENT ON A SATURDAY NIGHT. FRIENDS HAD BEEN RAVING ABOUT IT. LARGE SERVINGS, CHEAP PRICES, AS MUCH TEA AS YOU CAN DRINK. DONT EXPECT ANY SMILES FROM THE STAFF. VERY CASUAL FOOD COURT LIKE ATMOSPHERE. NO BOOKINGS. THE DUMPLINGS ARE MAGNIFICENT AND HUGE. I ORDERED A SOUP AND WAS DISAPPOINTED. TASTLESS BROTH WITH AN INDESCRIBABLE AWFULL TASTING GREEN LEAF VEGIE. NEVER GOING TO ORDER SOUP AGAIN. THE REST OF THE DISHES ON THE TABLE LOOKED GOOD. GREAT PLACE FOR EAT AND GO ON THE CHEAP. TAKES A WHILE FOR FOOD TO COME OUT AS PLACE IS CONTINUALLY FULL AND FOOD IS MADE AT TIME OF ORDER.
Approximate cost: $7-$10
I love love love Dumpling King. They are the king of dumplings for sure. Also the wontons are amazing. You have to try the fishball soup as well. The prices are sensational you can feed a family of four for well under $50.00
Approximate cost: $8.60
It does not get better then dumpling king! The prices are beyond amazing, their dumplings are the best I have ever had. Do not miss the friend prawn and pork dumplings, or the fired pork dumplings. They also have an extensive menu with Shanghai dishes, and their sides and entrees are very cheap! The spring onion pancake is something anyone who loves flaky pastry should try
Approximate cost: $8 - 10
Does Dumplings beautifully. Their asian greens are lovely too, but I don't usually do much other than the dumplings. All of them have been great, cheap, fun, and quick. The free Chinese tea is authentic and tasty.
Have been going to Dumpling King for a couple of years now. The dumplings are some of the best around! Highly recommend the chili oil dumplings (not that spicy) or the fried dumplings. If you're looking for some REAL spice, try the Dan Dan Noodles. The staff tend to warn you that they're very hot --> and believe them!!
The "tea" that comes free to the table is "interesting". When I first went there, I thought it tastes a bit like dirt -- and I still do! But soon you learn to love it (or maybe there's a bit too much salt and you need it??)
Excellent value for money. Each dish is around 7 - 9 bucks.
Buy some of their frozen dumplings to take home as well.
Approximate cost: $8
I've been here so many times and it is always consistently good. We never bother with anything but the dumplings because they are so yummy. The steamed pork in chilli oil ones are the pick but there are great fried ones, chicken ones and vegetarian.
The service is very efficient and what you would expect from a restaurant like this.
