After a lot of thought I am writing a review that is contradictory to others. After being sent an email with appointment for 6 weeks away. I was sent a confirmation on the Monday before which I thought I had replied to (I pressed return instead of send) Reception apparently rang on Tuesday and Wednesday when my phone was off for a funeral and workshop. On arriving on time for my appointment I was advised Doctor would not see me as I had not confirmed my appointment. Being at a cardiac centre no one even asked if I was OK. To say I was embarrassed would be an understatement. Totally unprofessional. I was offered another appointment in a couple of weeks butI was so upset I refused and left. Needless to say I am still traumatised. I don’t think the doctor was asked as the receptioinist rang ‘ upstairs’ before confirming. I have asked several businesses since if it was right and have not found one who agreed with the practise. After all I needed my heart checked which is all I was waiting for. Ridiculous way to treat people as we have lots to treat people. Is an appointment an appointment or not

I was admitted to Maitland Hospital and placed under the care of Dr. Simon. A wonderful Christian Man who truly cares for his patients. 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' A most fitting passage of scripture for this wonderful man. Without hesitation, I put my trust, and my heart into Dr. Simon's care. He picked up a defect in my heart that was caused by a misdiagnosed Rheumatic Fever when I was very, very young, and, was never picked up throughout my life. It eventually would have caused a serious 'Accident'. Dr. Simon will test, and test and re-test if necessary until he finds a good solution and outcome for you heart's health. If you are looking for the best Cardiologist in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, then ask your G.P for a referral to Dr. Simon. His staff are the kindest I've come across in quiet sometime. You're in good hands with this man who, along with his staff, will work tirelessly to return you to good health.

Dr Simon Mylabathula saved my life. I had a widowmaker blockage of the left artery. What was to be a routine angiogram became a double heart bypass. The first words he said to be before breaking the news was "God loves you" and realising I was one fatal heart attack waiting to happen, I am grateful. Thank you Doc.

I have been on hold on the phone for Dr Mylabathula's East Maitland rooms for one hour with no option to leave a message or for a call back now (27 December 2018 1214 - 114pm). Possibly the rooms are closed, and the receptionists forgot to change the message on the answering machine, which repeatedly says over the past hour "thank you for waiting, we wont be long now". I suspect the rooms are closed. Please call me back if you see this message. My number will appear on your caller ID. If you are closed, please change the message. Dr Mylabathula is a good doctor, but needs support staff to match, otherwise patients cant get to see him.

I have been a patient of Dr Simon for 9 years the most caring and compassionate give all of his attention to every patient have seen him working in the public hospital and every patient is treated the same, he also treats my wife . a lot of medical people speak highly of him and his staff
