My first hair cut with Michael today and I couldn't be happier. I had a shampoo, cut and blow dry. I walked in looking like a troll and walked out feeling like a goddess. I went there based on reviews, and am pleased to add mine. This man is more than a hairdresser - he's an artist! . WOW I'm in heaven Phillip Michael's of Mayfair ISNT JUST a hair salon, they treat you like family so everyone out there give them ago, they are both greet at cutting and styling, I love there dog summer she is great. Phillip experience really showed. He listened to what I wanted and I trusted he knew how to cut my hair type to get the style I wanted - he didn't disappoint. He also took the time to explain how to apply a particular product to get the most curl out of my hair when I let it dry naturally. Also, no pushy sales either. Really happy.
ok wash cut dry is $120 but trust me it well worth it

I have recently moved to Parramatta and was told to go and see Phillip Michael’s by a friend, I have had nothing but good experiences in this salon. The staff being a father & son team not to forget the mascot summer the doggy that meets and greet you are always very friendly and welcoming, it's not overpriced, and the products they use are really nice. It's relaxed but still feels trendy, and it's not stuffy or pretentious. I often get comments about how nice my hair looks after I’ve been and I have recommended them too many of my friends - I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I tried this place because of the high praise from word of mouth users and it exceeded expectations! I really badly needed a haircut and I wanted to try a different place and this was perfect. I was really satisfied with the job they did as they followed what I wanted exactly. I'm not a person to splurge on hair and beauty but I'll be coming back when I feel like treating myself. P.S. I got offered tea and coffee while I was waiting... these guys are really welcoming! I love there dog summer I got loads of kisses, and I love her, I will on my next visit bring her some goodies, do you know she comes down the stairs and greet you, and stops at the chair her daddy will be doing you hair on. When you get your washed hair she stays with you too.
I am a little funny about my hair. While I often indulge in pompous products and fancy styling (by which I mean, I take a straightener to it with reckless abandon), I don't always put forth the same amount of care when choosing a stylist. When it's time, it's TIME. Most recently, I found myself with hair reminiscent of the homeless lady that patrols Glebe Point Road, and so I set out to find someone to remedy it. A short Google search later, I discovered the nearby Philp Michael's of Mayfair salon and BAM, booked for that afternoon.

So first of all, they were doing a spectacular 30% off for first time customers, free deep conditioning special. What's more, I was offered a glass of white while I sat down for my consultation (which turned into 2, I mean, right?). My hairdresser phillip listened closely to what I was after, gave some good input and got to work chopping. He worked quickly and amused me all the while with his stories of big nights out and all the story of England, I told him I found some old photo on line with him doing a famous person hair, he replied she was one of the most loved people the world ever meet, it was princess Diana and lady spencer and sir Keith joseph mother Phillip just said they where the fun days as you didn't no who you would be locked up in the salon with until there security came in and shut everything down

As I slurped the last of my wine, he went to town with the blow dryer and about 5 round brushes to achieve the "bouncy" look. At the end of my appointment I ended up with a kickass haircut and a new possible best friend. It just took one wash to bring my 80s prom queen-esque styling into the current decade but I must admit, the cut was a great one- well shaped, good layering and the perfect amount of fringe. Go see phillip and his son bill and of course summer he's definitely a kick and the boy knows his scissors

When they say they are blonde experts they are not lying.

I am someone who goes from brown to ombré, balayage to brown again cuz I'm bored. Always wanted to just go the straight blonde but told let's just do foils a few times. Which going blonde is a process I know and accept that.

But the amazing phillip and bill , is the first to actually sit and think about a way to tackle my bronde hair.
The staff collaborated with each other to see what could work best to get me along my dream of being blonde.
This I think was nice, they really do care about you and your hair The thing I loved the most was that they didn't try and rush me along and find the quickest solution. No I was there all day and was happy to because summer and phillip and bill was happy to help me get closer to my dream. At no time did I feel like they were rushing my hair or getting over it.

Because of this, and the time and effort that was put into me I recommend Phillip Michael's of Mayfair to everyone. Honestly you will not be disappointed.

Also all new customers get 30% off their first visit. Who can say no to that. just tell them discount please

1 little tip
long and thick hair is an extra $30 to cut and style same foils extra $40

Choosing a hairdresser is serious business. About as serious as the first time you learn to drive. Or as serious as saying yes to a wedding proposal. I have tried many hairdressers all over Sydney but have never been able to commit to just one. I find most hairdressers pretend to listen to what you have to say and then cut whatever style they are used to.

I said no layers, miss.

Oh you said no layers? I thought you said four layers. Too late, my bad.

You can see my conundrum. Well that was until I was referred to Phillip I made a booking with Phillip Michael's (sometimes hard to come by) and prepared for the worst. But the moment I arrived ("Would you like some tea, coffee, water infused with strawberries ma'am?") I felt a connection to the place.

Phillip and his son and not to forget summer was wonderful. He was delightfully entertaining and all around chatty. It was like getting a haircut by your best friend. We talked about dancing, partying and our weekend hangovers that we'd been trying to put at bay, babies and boyfriends. I left feeling satisfied and confident in Philips handiwork.

Now I don't go anywhere else. I generally make appointments with Phillip but have also tried bill, who is equally friendly and just as good with the scissors. They have a loyalty card where every three visits you receive something extra (free treatment, free product or free hair cut) and they are going to send you birthday specials via text message. Once I even received a message for a discount haircut because they noticed I hadn't been in awhile (I'm lazy like that). If that is not true customer service, I don't know what is.

they are price concision and will not make you drop at the mouth, for 3 hours they charge 100 an hour which is brill, you even get many kisses from summer who I love and miss as she is so loving wash, cut, style, treatment $130 service time 90 minutes

I've had my hair cut by the Man himself, Dr Phillip Michael’s is the top in his field. I am a nurse at Westmead Children Hospital and one of the top surgeon was talking about Dr Phillip Michael’s, I thought he said he was a top Brain Surgeon, I was totally amazed when he stated he is a top Phd Hairdresser, and that he knew him in England, I found Phillip and his son are so friendly and the whole salon atmosphere is totally unpretentious - which I love. They never try to push products on you either. Their prices are very reasonable compared to lots of other hairdressers, especially in the area, and it's the only hairdresser I've been to in a long time that didn't try to make awkward, fake conversation with you. We had a genuinely pleasant chat and I left feeling relaxed and happy. As for the haircut, I was very happy with it (I have a fairly simple short layers and a fringe style, so not sure how they are with more difficult styles...but they did do a thorough consultation beforehand)
Finally, I loved that although my consultation, shampoo and cut was careful and thorough, I wasn't stuck sitting in the chair for hours...took about half an hour all up. And it was 121 no other client when you book as Phillip believes as you pay $130 you deserve 90 minutes fully to yourself.

the salon used to be Daniel Lee Hairdressing, but I am glad he changed it to his own name As Phillip Michael's Of Mayfair is brill

PHILLIP MICHAEL’S WILL BE CHANGING DANIEL LEE TO HIS NAME PHILLIP MICHEL’S AS DANIEL LEE WAS THE OLD OWNER 3 YEARS AGO CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YHE NEW SIGNAGE
I came here for the first time during the spring of 2017 and just happened to schedule an appointment with PHILLIP who is THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! He was incredibly energetic and friendly and best of all: he listens to you and actually does what you ask.

I have naturally curly/wavy hair and I've spent years trying to find a good hairstylist. Although PHILLIP does wash my hair before cutting it (I know, I know...you're supposed to cut curly hair dry and then wash, but those curly hair salons around the city are just too damn expensive), I've always loved my haircut afterwards. In fact, I've gotten 3 cuts now and each time, I've been the happiest I've ever been, leaving a salon

Most recently, I also decided to take the plunge and color my hair for the first time ever. I went in for balayage with a reddish/copperish tint and it came out looking INCREDIBLE. I'm especially grateful that BILL AND PHILLIP is such a good listener and worked hard to make sure the color wasn't too intensely red (because I was nervous that it might be).
It's also 2 months later now and although the red has faded out, the coloring itself still looks pretty good. Plus, PHILLIP also warned me that red tends to fade the fastest, so I'll be scheduling an appointment this month for toner, to add back some of the red color...

I also can't wait to go back, because PHILLIP AND BILL is the first hair stylist that I actually enjoy talking to, so I get to chat away like I would with a friend, AND come out with an awesome haircut afterwards! :)

WARNING IF YOU DON’T LIKE DOGGYS THEN KEEP AWAY SUMMER IS THE BEST DOG GOING SHE GREETS AND MEETS YOU, SHE GIVES YOU KISSES AND LOVE, I LOVE U SUMSUM

I have really long, thick, luxurious hair and unfortunately I'm not a hair stylist despite working within the beauty industry. I typically go to the larger blow out chains scattered around the city and never stay within my own neighborhood since I typically get blowouts at 7am before the work day begins.

However this past weekend was cold and dreary and I decided to treat myself to a blowout but not have to leave the area. Where I was going to go was immediately clear: Phillip Michael’s Of Mayfair Hair and Jewelry boutique. They're in a very convenient location and every time I've passed by the salon seems welcoming, clean and not too crowded giving me the impression that walk-in's have a short waiting time.

I walked in an only two customers were in their chairs getting their hair done. However, it looked as though it was short staffed since no one was at their little reception desk and I had to swivel my head around like an owl to determine who would be the best person to speak to. Shortly after I walked in though a young man asked what I would like to have done. I wanted a simple wash and blow out and was immediately directed to the washing station. A man was all ready to go in the back and he took his time washing my hair with Moroccan product. Side note: his towel skills are crazy because I have a lot of hair and he managed to get it all wrapped up in a little towel. The timing was great because the man who greeted me finished with one client and started on me, but not before asking what I would like to have done. I pulled up a photo of a curl with large, loose curls and he went to work. As I was sitting I was offered water and honestly the best thing happened: he was quiet! I'm sorry but I'm not sorry because although I don't mind having a conversation I much prefer being in my own little world sans conversation while having my hair done. Interestingly enough, towards the middle of the blow out I wasn't noticing anything particularly volume happening with my hair and was preparing myself to be a little disappointed. As time when by however, I noticed the technique he was using with the brush and carefully pinning everything together and my hair didn't look so lifeless anymore. It's a shame I didn't take a picture but when I had guests over to my apartment later on that day I received a lot of compliments! Genuinely loved the blow out and the price tag: $77 without tip. I'd honestly be happy to go back but only during a weekend when their store hours work with mine.

they open at 7am wed thur and they stay late till 10 if u need it
