DO NOT HIRE - Horrible to deal with - doesn't listen and talks over you. It was the most stressful 2 weeks, and my family actually lost sleep over it.
Job quality is sub par...did not let screed set. Used his own cheap bandaging (and charged us for it!) instead of our premium ones that we already purchased.
Did not come to the job with his own tools. Tried to make my father buy things from the hardware store. Then when confronted, he said "yeah I guess I could use my tools, I have to GO BACK HOME AND GET THEM". What kind of "professional" doesn't bring his tools to the job?
Was told three separate times that there was no cement, yet we had to endure him literally screaming about how he was never told that there was no cement for screed. This screaming was heard over the phone by my colleagues at the other side of the office.
Used wrong tiles for shower walls and now we have too many left over. Didn't leave enough clearance for powerpoints or switches.
Did not even allow a full 24 hours for screed to set before working on it.
We had premium quality waterproofing bandages, which he knew, however he used his cheap ones and charged us for it.
Waterproofing quality was not to my satisfaction. Could still see through the waterproofing is some areas (we provided the waterproofing).
Demanded $2500 halfway through the job, on a friday at 4pm, with no notice or no prior agreement. Then threatened to pack up and walk off the job if we didn't come up with the money. He packed up and then refused to get off the property. Wasted hours before agreeing to a smaller amount that had to paid on monday (when banks actually opened).
I WOULD NOT DEAL WITH THIS PERSON, even if my life depended on it. If you want to hire him, get EVERYTHING in writing first. Doesn't matter what he pretends to agree to, he will fake ignorance later.
Very shrewd and unpleasant.
The tiling was ok. Nothing special. I'm more worried about the terrible workmanship behind the tiling.
