Large American based supermarket. Sells discounted bulk food, clothes, jewelry and lots of other item.
Love grabbing a bargain and then grabbing a huge fresh piping hot american sized pizza on the way out for only $15.
Grab your trolley before you get to the elevator. Membership was $60 and is valid for 12 months.

I do love coming to Costco but mainly for the food court - love their pizza slices and hot dogs! Like others have mentioned its the best place to buy in bulk from groceries, to rings and clothing - all under one giant warehouse roof, if you have a large family or can share with a friend! This store is crazy swamped on the weekends so I recommend coming early before it opens or during the weekdays (morning as well) to get a parking spot and less crowded! I love the taste testing on certain products they have in store. Great range of products, great taste etc.

Membership is $60 a year (with additonal household card for one member of the family) and must be presented to gain access inside. Those without a membership cannot shop themselves unless accompanied with a member who has a Costco card and is added to the same docket ( as member).

Approximate cost: $60/year

Love buying in bulk and apart from the actual customers being rude and barging you or cutting you off in the car park it's fun they have samplers and its such a great place to buy lots of American food :-)

OMG, I agree--the customers are INSANE, and that carpark is legitmately terrifying! Great review :D

We do a big shop here once every few months. My husband stocks up on food and I stock up on cleaning products.

The meat there is great value for money, however I don't find a great benefit in the fruits and veg.

If you can, I would recommend going during a weekday as the weekends can get really crowded and you could spend at least an hour waiting to get INTO Costo and trying to find parking.

Membership is about $60 per year. For those wanting to try before they buy, find someone with a membership as it allows them to take 2 people, per cardholder.

Agree about coming here on a weekday. Even on a motorbike it takes a while to get through the traffic on weekends.

I checked out Costco for the first time today and it was an awesome shopping experience! The prices were significantly better than the mainstream supermarkets, only catch is that everything is sold in bulk. Costco have taste testing in all different aisles which my husband and I throughly enjoyed, we ended up buying some of the products that we tasted. We spent a lot, but considering what we bought, I do not think we will need to do another big shop for a while. I reccommend going early for a car space and to avoid the crowds.

again , the problem with costoco is that you have to pay a fee to be able to shop right?

After shopping at Costco, you will find Coles or Woolies are ripoff. But it gets very crowded here. To avoid the crowd, Get there early at 10am when they open, and use the carpark entrance on Parramatta road not the main one where everybody try to get in and queue at traffic light. I found that sometimes it is too easy to over spend here and buy things unplanned, because the prices are so attractive and you could not help buying things that you probably won't need. Having a shopping list and stick to it will help. Meat, cakes and pre made cold or hot dishes are so fresh and high quality. You can find all premium brands here unlike at Aldi you have limited options. Because things are sold bulk here, you may need to think where and how you can store the goods and use them over a period of time.

This place is good, especially if you want to bulk buy for a party. I got many products cheaper than what was offered in supermarkets, including toothpaste and toilet paper. The food is very tasty as well.

As other reviewers have mentioned, it's perfect for hosting parties or events because you can bulk buy and it's definitely cheaper than most supermarkets. Sometimes they have a lot of taste testing like chips, dips, nuts and fruit which is great, keeps the kids entertained. However I think the staff could be a little friendlier. Keep in mind it can get extremely packed in Costco so the staff can appear to be a little stressed out. I only come here maybe once a month, because the crowds can be a bit too much.

Taste testing is the best!

Have been to Costco many times now, its great when your entertaining or having Kids parties. Buying in bulk really helps.
I love the store layout, its great you can get around with your trolley, if you go early its better as not too busy.

Lots of variety on the floor, good selection of books and love the vegies/fruit/meat and breads.

The selection of cakes is great, so much to choose to from and the servings are huge. We always buy the cakes when i have people coming over. Their fresh and really tasty.

We find the service not that great, Have asked Staff members on the floor many times to help us find stock and they have no idea, on 2 different ocassions the staff member never returned to us to help us. This is really annoying and really sad that they don't know their stock.

I have been trying to find the Carmens round bars to no avail as staff just did not know what they were. So i ended up getting in contact with Carmens head office to find out that Costco dont sell them anymore. Which is more time and effort for me and my kids love these bars.

However the Sales people of the registers are lovely and smiley.

Also found some Staff have trouble speaking English.

My recent favourite product is the Mozzarella sticks yum
i hope they dont discontinue these we love them

When my friends hear Im going to Costco they give me their list too so i stock up for everyone.

Its great, though better service would be helpful.

Approximate cost: $300.00

Shocking experience as a first time user at Costco membership warehouse.

A $60 membership card for 1 year allows you to purchase goods.
The warehouse is divided into aisles which is unmarked so you'd be spending time looking for groceries. Though there are a few staff around with highlighted vests to ask.

Generally, the prices are more expensive, but the products your buying is in bulk. Also most items are USA products.

If you dont like products that you have bought, you have a guaranteed refundable purchase that is IF you are still an existing member. - (which I find really amazing that I could buy all my electronics and still refund it after months of purchase.)

Great food, American sized pizza's for 3$ or wholes for 15$, bottomless drinks and hotdogs!

Great customer service, I had a few workers helping me out with my TV, very friendly, respectful and professional.

Great experience, give it a go!

Approximate cost: $200$

I have been to Costco a few times. as you said - the products are good and service is nice but the warehouse is cluttered with unmarked aisles and every time i go there i still get lost to find the product i'm after...

benchiees 27 Sep 2012

True, massive aisle signs with clear headings or even a store map every couple of aisles would really really help! But still love the range of multicultural products they have as well as products from closer to home :)

You have to know what the prices are of the grocery items as not everything is cheaper, but most are.You buy most products in packs, 2's and 3's etc/or bulk.
You do have to be a member,at a cost of $60 general or $50 for a business,so it is has to be factored in when you take into account what you would buy over a year.
Generally though it is well worth it. You get a lot of good quality USA made products.I didnt find the fruit and veges worth it though, price or quality.
Great experience. Although compared to the USA stores our prices are MUCH higher.More competition over there and the shipping costs add to our more expensive prices.

It is a huge warehouse but the aisles are unmarked so you have to walk around to find what you want if you're going for the first time. Some of the prices are not that cheap but I got a few bargains in the fresh produce, frozen fruit & food, and bought a 8-piece stainless steel bowl set with lids for only $32.99 as I couldn't resist it. You have to be a member ($60) if you wish to shop here.

Approximate cost: $110
