Good choice of food and wine, but overpriced. Luckily they are in the Entertainment Book!
Don't know if we had an unfortunate experience but chicken satay and prawns along with calamari in main courses were overcooked. Other than this, sauces were delicious.
Not as good as previous meals eaten here over a year ago.

I'm going to say this one is good, even though the flavours are really that authentic. They've been 'adjusted' to cater for the Western palette.
But still, this isn't a bad thing as it's competing with a hoard of other wonderful food options.
But it's the lunch special that makes this one a good choice.

I though their food was average at best.. curry was a bit too salty! Large serving sizes and friendly service though. I would also have to agree with others in saying that their food is pricey and there are much better Thai options in Adelaide.

Bit of a hit and miss here.
Attended this one over a couple of weeks. First visit was nice. The tom yum was tasty and good value. Prawn is better than the chicken and seems to be better value too in terms of inclusions.
Second week was a bit disappointing. I tried their beef noodle soup. DO NOT PICK THIS EVER!!! Lacking in flavour and noodles are just sooo bland! And although lunch specials state $9.90, this one is $13.90 for some reason. Definitely NOT worth the time of money.

Otherwise, this place does the job.

Cafe Michael 2 have gotten better! I ate some takeaway from this restaurant recently as my boyfriend loves them, and the food was great. I had a beef dish and my boyfriend a chicken one, with the little chicken purses (I've forgotten their name, but they are like a little ball of mince and stuffing wrapped in crispy wonton type wrapping) as an entree. Actually quite delicious, will be coming back.

What a strange name for a thai restaurant, well my friends and I think so. It just wasn't what we were expecting. Anyway, the food was great and well priced at around $10 for lunch.

The name always put me off; it's not what you'd expect for a Thai restaurant! But the food is reliable, the location is convenient and the prices are okay. It's close to Adelaide Uni so it was one of the regular places we went to.

The dark interior is a complete contrast to the outside world.
Is this the new form of eco friendly or is this the atmosphere they were looking for?
The food isn't too sloppy and leaves nothing for the wanting. So could easily come here again if you want consistency. Perhaps that's their downfall though. It's always the same.

Cafe Michael 2 is a great Thai place. They often have some interesting desserts and their food is always good. Considering it's in the prime area of Rundle Street I'd expect a bit more X-Factor to get 5 star though for the price of the food. The toilet being outside and freezing in winter isn't exactly nice either!

I am not actually a huge fan of Cafe Michael 2's thai food.
It features lots of raw, sliced and diced salad veges and coconut and lemongrass and things that kind of feel as if they get stuck in your throat; there's fibre, then there's Cafe Michael 2's dishes!

I don't know how else to explain my dislike of their food. But lots of people like it. There's a nice atmosphere, good staff who get your booking right and act like they're happy to see you, a nice wine menu, and it's in a good location.

You might like them, lots of people do. But for me there are some far better Thai restaurants in Adelaide! I just can't seem to enjoy the textures and sensations.

Great tasting food and an excellent selection.
Very fancy restaurant inside, but not my first preference in Thai as it's always so busy and loud.
Service is quite good and usually there is only a small wait for food to come out.
Pad Thai from here is great, although very nutty.

I thought Cafe Michael 2 was a rather unusual name for a restaurant that specialises in Thai food, but the minute you step in and look at the menu you'll be impressed at the range and authenticity of their dishes. They prepare the tastiest and freshest Tom Yum soup I've ever had, and they also serve up an absolutely delicious Northern Jungle Hot & Sour Chicken Curry. The prices are relatively high, but they match the serving portion sizes and quality, so it's well worth it. Service is friendly and relatively efficient, highly recommended.

The pad thai there is quite nice. I also had one of their specials of the night, spicy roast chicken. They only gave 2 pieces and the total cost of that dish was $17! The rest was rice and vegetables, which I thought was a rip off. Place is usually full so booking ahead is a good idea. Attentive waiters.
