i used to love going to this borders but now that they are closing down i think the employees are in a bad mood i still buy books online though
The staff are not overly helpful and now they are closing its not exactly the place to go for customer service but since they are closing the store their are some great finds for really quiet reasonable prices.
Love it, I enjoy buying books there and the service is always so great. I also enjoy the fact that you can actually read the books whilst you are in the shop.
fantastic luv luv luv luv luv them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought some really great xmas gifts at Borders, realizing how good the shop was I signed up
for membership, the staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful, prices pretty good as well.
Approximate cost: $100
Although Borders has the best product selection, it can be a little pricey. Though, if you sign up to their online newsletter, you get regular discounts which make it a little more competitive. I love the stationery section here - they import a lot of great products.
Approximate cost: $40
A great place to browse - I found a hard to get cooking book i really wanted except was $65.00 for not a very thick book - have found the prices are getting a bit expensive compared to their competition especially the dvds - good though to join the email club, cos quite regularly get good offers and discounts
Overall a pleasant experience. It was very hard to find a staff member to help find a book but they were very helpful. It has a very relaxing vibe. Great place to have a coffee and read your book.
Lovely to go into a bookshop and be able to have a relaxed cup of coffee and a snack. Really love my trips to Borders and will visit again. My kids also love being able to have a read while my husband and I catch up and gossip. Friendly service, great variety of books.
i absolutely love going to boarders in my spare time its more like a library than anything and with comfortable chairs at the back of the store and a coffee shop its great for Saturday morning , i will visit borders all the time .
I was so impressed with this store. By chance I inquired if they had a certain book that my Daughter had been looking for in relation to her Autistic son was available and sure enough it was. The staff were so very helpful. There is such a great array of books and a pleasure to shop and browse in this store. I will be back.
borders is a great place where you get to go and have a coffee while looking for a great book. even when with friends or shopping by your self. i love how it is all set out and you can get movies and cds as well.
Approximate cost: $30.00
Great service and such a massive range of kids books, the coffee was great, and the range of stationery was suprisingly bright, and makes for great presents this time of year! I was also suprised how helpful and knowledgable the staff were when i was looking for research books, that aren't in most bookstores.
I had a fantastic experience in Borders with my Todler. We looked at all the children's books which were so easy to find and reasonably priced and even had a coffee and a snack for my boy...we had a great time and we'll definately go back.
Approximate cost: $50.00
Because I mostly buy either the books on special or the books on photography, the value ranges from really great buys to things I'd never buy. I like the specials, because there's usually a good supply of new things regularly on a wide range of topics (lots of cheap teaching resources). The photography section depresses me, as I would never pay so much for a new book in such shabby condition, but for the most part in other sections, books seem well cared for. There's a Gloria Jean's in there, too, and a reasonable amount of seating so you can explore future purchases. Other than their photography section (which is unfortunately the place I gravitate to), it's a great shop.
I enjoy a long browse each time I visit. I usually buy something, but never pay for full price items. The selection of DVDs is good, and the budget priced books are reasonable. There is no help within the store.
The staff are very helpful and the computer system in store makes it a breeze to find that book you are after and to navigate around the store. The diverse range of books and other products makes it a very pleasant experience finding that perfect item.
My son has Autism, and i"ve found it hard to find learn to read book with only a few words to a page. The staff were very helpful in showing me a wide variety of books, and have a great range of books that he will be able to use.
I needed to get a book which I was having trouble finding. Borders found it on their records and ordered it for me. I did need to place a deposit but that came off my end price. It made it so easy. The service is great and I signed up for Borders online newsletter where they send you discount vouchers on their books. I love the Chermside Borders best because of the Gloria Jeans within. You can curl up on lovely big lounge chairs with a book and a coffee and thoroughly research a subject or study in ambient environment.
Approximate cost: $15-$100
Massive range of books and magazines, dvd's,cd's,tapes and a coffee shop too!! Good customer people and the choice of books is amazing.
Prices are not cheap as others but the range is better than others so as it is said - Quality is not expensive,it's priceless
Amazing store. Completely overwhelming. I got lost, but that's okay. I phoned to ask if they stocked two books (one relatively hard to find, the other near impossible) and they had one of them and told me it was on order and how long until I could expect it.
The store is huge and has the most impressive range of books I've seen anywhere, its literally a one stop shop and I got a book I really wanted there at a really good price too
Approximate cost: $29.99
