The layout of Borders Chadstone is a bit difficult to navigate the first time you visit, but its also part of the reason I love it. There are some great quiet spots to browse through the books, if you've got the kids, they love the 'stage' in the kids section, and of course they have Gloria Jeans instore with a great lookout to watch the other shoppers below!
Three floors of books, music and movies!! AMAZING.
I love being able to take a book into the on-site cafe and reading through it while enjoying a nice hot drink.
The staff are pleasant and always willing to help you locate an item in store. What's more, if they haven't got it in stock, they will direct you to their online store- where they have an enormous collection of books.
DVDs and music are quite pricey here though, so you'd be better off getting those from somewhere else.
the staff here are so very friendly and helpful.the store has lovely collection of wide range of books.the books are so well arranged that they are easily accessible to your search without much effort involved.on the whole its a pleasant experience in this amicable atmosphere for browsing any kinda books.
Heaps of books to look at ,it reminds a bit of a library but you can actually purchase the books.
Borders is an experience like no other, where else can you go and read magazines, books, literature, without having to buy the item first they have absolutely any kind of movie, music or book that you could want
An absolutely amazing range of books/ videos/ magazines etc.. I spent a few hours in this store and I'm not normally a book person. Service was average, but not really necessary.. it wasn't cheap but with such a range how could you complain.
Approximate cost: $80
I have been searching for a book for ever : What Would Audrey Do, and did not find it anywhere, until i went into borders! Its great how gloria jeans coffee is in there too, i had a yummy mocha and read my book, it was great!
Really a good place to grab some quality reading, with the great atmosphere, filled with the aroma of good coffee and good vibes you wouldnt want to leave. The books are always the main thing as borders stock up very good ones in demand.
I love Borders and they have a wider variety of books than other book stores and I find I can always get what I want. However, I don't like it when people can read the books at Gloria Jeans and not purchase them.
Approximate cost: $39.95
I visit Borders quite often, not just a place to buy and discover new titles but also a nice place to sit and relax with a book - usually before or after meeting friends for shopping.
I regularly go to this Borders with our young kids, and I find the shop friendly and accommodating, with plenty of choice, from cheap fillers to amazing curios, with a large depth of middle range of kids books, adults, technical, magazines and toys. Parking is easier than in Prahran or Camberwell, and the hours are still good. We always come away with hundreds of dollars worth and happy kids.
Approximate cost: $average prices, better than average value
I love that fact that you can read a book here and also chat with a friend over coffee or a light snack. It's so brilliant, such a huge selection ranging from Sport,Fiction Non Fiction,Magazines,Movies, you name it,they've got it! Love the loyalty program that offers monthly discounts too.
Borders is one of my favourite bookstores! I love how there's a cafe there so you can read a book while sipping on a drink. You can also buy magazines, movies and other things from there. It's such a big store, so sometimes it's hard to get help, but I reckon that the whole store is easy to find your way through.
i think Borders is one of my favourite stores in the entire planet ... they've really got the branding thing down pat ... good service -- some of those guys actually know what they're talking about! haha ... almost as good as going to a small bookstore, but better in the sense that they have everything there coz it's massive!
Massive range of books and mags. good cafe where you can sit and read, kids get free babychino and always lots for them to read in the cafe. The staff are relaxed but helpful if required.
I used to go to Chadstone just to wander around Borders. It is a great store with a fantastic vibe. Lots of books, DVDS, stationary etc. to choose from. No complaints from me.
Borders is a great book store, not only do they have a huge variety of books that other book shops do not stock. But they are so helpful and willing to go to great lengths to order a book in that may not be available . Friendly staff too
Approximate cost: $35
I WENT TO BORDERS FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST WEEK BECAUSE I GOT A GIFT CARD TO GO THERE IT WAS GOOD THERE WAS HEAPS OF BOOKS AND MAG AND DVDS BUT IT WAS A BIT DEAR
Approximate cost: $15
Amazing selection of books, very comfortable, could just stay there for a whole day. Products are a bit pricier than other book/cd/dvd stockists but Borders have more choice than most stores.
I'm in love with Borders. It's like my second home. I go there almost every day, and the cafe staff know me by name. Their range of books, magazines and music is beyond brilliant. I'm very surprised when they don't stock a book I want. I love their imported mags, and their awesome discount vouchers via email.
Approximate cost: $30
its got hte largest variety of books. lots to choose from you can find alot of international best sellers in there as well. but it can be very expensive at the same time.
Approximate cost: $30.00
I loved the wide range of books and great prices. The staff where very nice and very helpfull I was very happy about the overall experience and would recommend you shop there!
I do love borders, they give a great selection of books and are happy to order them in for you, but I do miss the sales when they first opened at jam factory - to get books at a bargain price was one of the best reasons for shopping there. Bring those days back please
Approximate cost: $20
What a brilliant idea- to have a bookstore open in the evening. There is plent of space and every book imaginable. customers have access to a store database and the staff are very friendly. Browsing while drinking coffee is very enjoyable
I lvoe this shop! the 3 levels of books, the cafe, the staff everything is just brilliant! I love the feeling when i walk in that there is no rush! I can browse for hours, pour over a book with a coffee and then have a great checkout!
While I initially promised myself that I would never shop at Borders, because it was foreign owned, and I like to support the big guys, I just can't get enough of this store. It is the best bookstore around, with the most incredible magazine selection.
They are happy for you to test drive a book or magazine or CD, and even provide comfortable seating throughout the store so that you can relax and read a bit!
As for range, they seem to have books that aren't available anywhere else, and have stopped me having to purchase online through Amazon. Great just to browse, or find a special gift, or just windowshop.... or to pick up the latest American magazine airlifted to Australia.
Join their online club, and they will send you a different discount voucher each week which can be very valuable... they also have a few brand new books on sale each week at the front door which are well below RRP (The 2008 Guiness Book Or Records was recently offered at less than 1/2 price)
Chadstone branch has the best range of computer books around - much better than other Borders nearby. I love being able to sit in the cafe with a coffee and really being ably to check the books through carefully before I buy. Also - join their email list for up to 30% off. If you're in a hurry, try Fishpond online for cheaper books.
The shop is easy to find with a great range of books!! I have always found what I have been looking for and the staff are always on hand for any questions. If you like visual art books then this is the book shop to visit.
a wide selection of books, heaps to choose from. service was very good, like they actually WANT to serve you. its definitely worth the half hour drive. i'd recommend to any book lover
Borders is the most incredible bookshop I have ever experienced! The service is phenomenal, there are bargain books everywhere, although it is quite a busy store the register service is efficent and waiting is always entertaining with books lining the register queue. I could spend hours in here!
